When will the Empire get the big ships?

By DravinClaw, in X-Wing

Congratulations on winning the Internets! :)

If I am not mistaken weren't there some smaller Imperial vessels that resembled the star destroyers? Also there were different classes of star destroyers as well with some being smaller than others.

Doesn't the empire have something about the size of the tantive...my star wars vehicle knowledge isn't what it used to be.

Of these, I'd prefer http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Vigil-class_corvette

Gozanti followed by Vigil...looks like two good choices at this point!

:) !!!

Id rather see the Vigil over the Gozanti.

That is... If it was a choice btwn only those two..

The reason I put the Gozanti first is because it could be done in 1/270 scale, whereas the Vigil is so big, I believe it would have to be 1/400 scale. Ideally, both in one Wave would be awesome! LOL!

Looks like Mel's Miniatures is taking the bull by the horns regarding Imperial large ships - I'm going to be keeping a close eye on this (not so little) project:

Wow.

How big (& expensive) is this going to be??

And Mels is probably the only place you will see it.. the Nebulon B isn't what I would call a candidate for this game, it is way to bid.

The Gozanti, and the Vigil are better choices and more likely candidates.

but by his scaling he'll make it the same size as the CR90 practically.

And since with Shapeways you pay by volume, good luck there also.

The Gozanti, yes; the Vigil, no.

At 255 metres long, the Vigil would actually feature more volume than the Nebulon B, considering it's width and depth and the fact that the vast majority of the Nebulon B Frigate's length is taken up by the spar that connects the main hull to the (also relatively small) engine block.

And yeah, it would certainly be too big for a regular game, but as an Epic scale ship it wouldn't be designed to be used in a regular game, would it? It would be perfectly at home on an Epic-scale 6x3 play area.
