Let's see the Rebels have the transport ship and the tantive 4 when do we get Star destroyers or would that just dwarf the game as it is?
When will the Empire get the big ships?
We won't get an imperial class star destroyer ever they can demolish worlds way to big and powerful to have in game, but no doubt we'll get some hint if not an outright reveal in a few short weeks.
I was having this discussion with my son and I told him star destroyer can dock a tantive 4 so if they were to do it by skale it would be huge and makes the play area very small and be twice as expensive. It would make things interesting tho to say the least.
Many people are assuming that imperial huge ships will be revealed at Gen Con in a couple weeks.
What ships those may be is a matter of endless debate in the senate. Me personally, I'm hoping/betting on a gozanti cruiser.
The ol' Star Destoryer thread. Full of such classics as: 'It's too big! This is a dogfighting game' and 'It's so iconic, they have to do it!'
We might hear something at GenCon.
We might have them in our hands this time next year.
Never. Only Rebel scum would be so desperate that they would send a corvette or transport class ship into battle. The Empire fights with highly trained pilots and precision Tie fighters.
Edited by Stone37Wookiepedia pegs the gozanti cruiser at 41.8 meters ( http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Gozanti_Cruiser ), that's only slightly larger than the 35 meter yt1300. Not exactly a 'huge' ship.
Is it just wrong?

A comparison of the gozanti carrying tie fighters from the SW Rebels trailer with the established measurements of tie fighters suggests that yes, it is wrong. Also, it looks like a much bigger ship.
But according to this page www.rebelscum.com/2014-SDCC/SDCC-2014-Fantasy-Flight-Games-Star-Wars-Pavilion/ , FFG don't have any upgrade to show, maybe Rebel Aces, so we need to wait a few more, greettings.
I personally am very excited at the prospect.
I hope for a Gozanti and perhaps a Vigil Class!
How close are these dimensions?

Now that I've studied this schematic and the weapons/shields potential I really like it! It would be an awesome Imperial addition at 1/270, as it would be slightly longer than two YT1300's end to end!

75 meters sounds about right. I tried using screenshots of the trailers for the upcoming Rebels TV series, using the under-slung TIE fighters as a reference (assuming that FFG's size for TIE fighters is the correct one), and after a bit of fun with blowing stuff up to different scales in Photoshop and then printing them off and comparing to FFG model TIE fighters (not a very scientific method, but the best one I could think up on the fly), I estimated that in order for them to fit as in the images, the Gozanti Cruiser would need to be at least 70m long from nose to tail.
However, I strongly suspect this image isn't anything official. (Seeing references to "turrents" and "missles" and the "gally" tipped me off, for starters.

NERDS...
Yes we are!
Nice post. You know FFG can do a HUGE ship on one of the new Huge bases, which are a tiny bit larger than a Large ship base. No reason that a Huge Epic ship can not be a little bigger than a large ship.
It ain't the size of the dog, as it goes.
A Gonzies could still use energy and still have a lot of guns plus the TIE.
It could act like a huge and be a little bigger than a Large.
Dunno... but it is fun to think about it.
Found it. Those deckplans are a fan creation on deviant art (pretty good ones too).
This is my favorite version.
If it is 75 meters, that's only slightly smaller than a gr75 transport and could make a nice 2 epic-point ship. I vote this ship with 1 or 2 ties in the same box, with new tie pilots.
Google search, which gave me this one too. I'll look for the host site for you!Plainsman. Where did that image come from?

Put this together with a Core Set and a player would have a proper compliment of four Ties!

As soon as you move that ship the Ties will get destroyed!!
I guess we will have to wait a few weeks

For Comparison, Here is a 42 meter Imperial Gozanti next to a 75 meter version. I think the 75 makes a lot more sense.
You know, I'm starting to come around to the 75m version of this ship. I'm guessing the 41.8m listed on the Wookiee came out of Startships of the Galaxy (2007). It's not in my 2001 edition (unless I'm blind, which is possible), so does anyone know what it says there?
