Hello, I've just ordered and didn't even play yet, but I'm trying to build 31pts squad for beginner tournament.

Please help me choose which option I should take and why:

In my opinion, you can't go wrong with Dark Curse and Night Beast, but they also just happen to suit the way I like to play the game. YMMV

#1 looks real good.

Just a heads up on the FAQ for night beast, if he is stressed and does a green maneuver he does not get a free action due to his pilot ability being checked before the stress is removed. (he still gets his normal action though).

What is allowed in the beginner tournament? is it just the starter set or anything 31 points or less?

Any small ship is allowed, but my pool will be: CS, Slave 1, Interceptor and Imperial Aces. (I don't know what to buy next yet - I need to play some games.)

That suggests you have the TIE interceptor.

Soontir Fel with Push the Limit. 30 pts.

Yeah if you have an interceptor take soontir with PTL and dominate.

I was thinking that two ships would stay longer - 4 attack dices and 6 damage compared to 3/3.

Soontir with push the limit gets three actions, so you can for example barrel roll or boost and still take a focus and an evade token, this makes him very hard to kill and able to out fly other ships.

Instead of Night Beast I'd suggest just going Backstabber (or Dark Curse) + Black Squadron Pilot w/ Veteran Instincts. This gives you TWO PS 6 pilots which can make your activations go much easier as either one can go first.

Although it's 32 points I'd say Luke w/ R2D2. For 31 points maybe try Wedge w/ Expert Handling. An "issue" is that at 31 points you're giving the Imperials a number of two ship options while the rebels are pretty much stuck with one ship options unless you're just going to run a couple Zs or maybe a ZA pair.

I would take night beast/dark curse, they are my two favorite Ties. As others have said Soontir is great, I think he is still the best pilot in the game and at 30 points(with PTL) he is not too expensive compared to what it takes to make the other PS 9 pilots sing. Once you play Soontir everything else seems slow.

Having an Interceptor doesn't mean that he has Push the limit (PtL).

Having Imperial Aces does.

This gives you TWO PS 6 pilots which can make your activations go much easier as either one can go first.

I will practice with my friend soon, so I'll try Fel first (I know he's good that's why I bought Interceptors ).

I have no skill though, so if one ship would not be enough, then I go with Dark Curse + Black Squadron Pilot w/ Veteran Instincts.

Fel is a beast. Generally moves last (due to his ps9)letting him boost and barrel roll out of enemy ships fire arcs while grabbing a focus. He can also turtle up with 2 focus and an evade.
