Never legal Promos

By dshaffer, in UFS General Discussion

I've seen a few circulating, and have even managed to get my hands on a few of them, but does anyone have a fairly complete list of the various not yet/will never be legal promos? Here are the ones I've managed to either grab or have seen. Anyone have any they've seen/acquired that are not on this list here? I'd like to have the stats on hand for documentation purposes as there are so many promos out there I'm not sure which are legal yet.

Characters
6/6 Cammy:: 8HS 18Vit (Air,Chaos,Void) - An alternate, Legal version was later released with several changes.

3/4 Lotus Garden +1M (Infinity) Terrain | Unique – Release date uncertain
At the end of every turn, place 1 Lotus token on this card. If this card has more Lotus tokens than either player's current vitality, destroy all foundations and assets.

You forgot promo Donovan, the one the allegedly doubled progressive difficulty

Boo on Jubei. It appears they'll never make a good Jubei =/

Also, yeah, broken Mitsurugi is broken. Run him off Fire, use all of Fire's extremely cheap n' easy damage pumps, and bam, you're back to full with a ready staging area. Who cares if your attack is at 0 when you can just turtle-out, or win with those ready foundations? XD

Promo donavan

his symbols were Death, Fire, Order, and his abilities were as follows.

First F commit: Until your next turn, progressive difficulty is doubled. Put 1 Hunter token on this card.

First F commit, remove X Hunter tokens from this card: For the rest of this turn, all your attacks get +X damage.

taken off the uk page as qwe go one over here

Is Donovan in the preemptively banned list, or just released early? He doesnt seem busted. What's his HS and Vitality?

joe never posted that bit up if u asked on our fourm sure he would say.

Steve stated that at the time it would never be released (along with the mitsurugi)

I wonder why. He didnt seem THAT bad, not compared to 'I can ready EVERYTHING and Revitalize to boot!' Mitsurugi.

Stall until your attacks get +9 damage.

????

Profit.

I was told by someone at FFG that Lotus Garden would be released eventually just like Egyptian Temple was. Not sure about Jubei though... I was also told that the shiny demo-deck Cammy wouldn't ever hit the regular prize pool which kinda made me sad but w/e.

Didn't ever work for me =/. I had him built off Fire using Fires awesome Throws (8th Bill, Widow, etc) + Modified Shadow Style + Cocky for ultimate momentum.

Yeah...simply didn't cut it. During that era, there was no Fire character quite like ***Adon***

Donovan: was a 6/27 with Death/Fire/Order with the abilities already stated. When you consider he would probably have been released around the time of Realm Of Midnight, Forethought would not have been far behind his release, which would have spelt immediate doom for almost any deck. He was one of those decks that you just couldn't prepare for, as I did have a go with him, before he was announced to never be released, and as much as you can stop CC hax, you can't stop difficulty uppers. He was exceptionally powerful, and really did not encourage the whole 'attacking over more than 1 turn' thing, so I imagine FFG never wanted to see his release.

By the way, you've missed one, Victor:

Victor:

5/32

Death/Order/Void (and a much better picture than either of the other Victors :P )

After each players Ready Phase, that player commits X foundations, X equals the number of Bolt Tokens on this character.

E Commit: Add or remove 1 Bolt Token from this character.

I've also heard about a Taki that was meant to be released in the same batch as Mitsurugi, but I've never seen or heard anything about her. Although I still own Mitsurugi...

Wow...

worse than Rikuo? =/

Really wish I could have a copy of that Mitsurugi though and the Donovan, just to have and stare at, right next to my Li Longs lol.

Interesting Jubei.

But I only care about my Donovan. I need one =(

maybe. I can see him being brutal with stuff like Hunger of Souls.

I'll stick to abusing my Ibuki+Hunger For Souls. Far better than that POS character there. =p

^I don't THINK Hunger for Souls + Ibuki works especially well, because Hunger says "the control of the checked card" not "the check for this ability" or something like that, just like you can't BRT your Soul Wave*. I'm not an arbiter and haven't checked with one tho, so I might be wrong...

It's more that it's a wholesale destruction effect that can be pulled off T1.

Victor and Donovan added to the list. Any more that people have actually spotted?

anyone have a picture of the victor btw? I've seen all the other ones...

Easiest way to figure out your holes:

DS2P - Only cards missing - Victor & Donny.

SC8P - Lotus Garden, is there anything else missing?
SC9P - You've covered Rugi, Li Long's, anything else missing?

SF8P, SF9P, SF10P - What's missing from here?

You're also missing SW1P 5/7

Probably that 8-star Ryu that never came out...

thats odd i have the halo cammy mai and tira from the demo decks are all of them not legal?

Interesting fact: if you look at SNK4 or SNK6P (I forget which), there are several empty places for characters.

Empty spaces that exactly correspond to every single new SNK character from the past two sets. Jivatma, Chae, Kim, Soiree, all of them.

Oyeah.
