EEX

By DoubleDown217, in X-Wing

Got a tournament at my LGS tomorrow. I am thinking about running this list, give me your thoughts.

Corran Horn 35

Marksmanship 3

FCS. 2

Etahn A'Baht. 32

Predator. 3

Biggs. 25

Biggs to cover through the initial joust while Corran and Etahn land crits. Then the E's each engage remaining targets modifying crits with each attack.

Hmm, don't think I've ever seen an EEX list before. I like it! Should hit extremely hard on the initial joust, and then the E-wings are so slippery that they can pick apart whatever is left.

Let me know how you do with it, very interested.

Another variation I might be tempted to try would be Push the Limit + R2 astromech on both E-Wings. You lose a little bit of hitting power on Corran, but - unlike with your current setup - you can use his add-ons every turn, even when he can't shoot. Etahn probably gains a little offensive power and a lot of additional flexibility.

You get a little bit less on the alpha strike, but I think this list is quite a bit more sustainable in the long run.

I like it. I'd be very interested to see how it works for you.

Just one question/suggestion, why do you need marksman when you have an Etahn?

You may want to consider using PTL instead to ensure you land a more hits by TL and Focusing your attacks with Corran. Then once you have a TL from the FCS you can take an evade to give him a bit more longevity.

He wants Marksmanship so he can have a TL+F (er, Marks) for the end round shot.

I like the list a lot. Good jousting and good dogfighting potential. I don't know about marksmanship. It certainly works with Corran's ability, but it is a purely offensive action. Predator is offense but requires no action for the same cost. Push the Limit gives you more flexibility in case you need to go defensive or offensive or extra movement with your actions. That's mostly personal choice, and it probably works fine with Marksmanship as it is.

Another comment: When I read the thread title EEX I thought about a casual list I wrote where all the ships have R7 astromechs. Corran Horn with VI, R7, and FCS allows him to use the free Target Lock as a defensive bonus or save it for his 2nd shot. Just an interesting idea.

Ok i added two variations on the original:

Corran fcs and marksmanship 40

Wedge predator

Biggs r2f2

100 pts

Corran fcs marksmanship 40

Wedge EU VI 34

Biggs 25

99 pts

Or the original

Corran marks fcs 40

Etahn predator 35

Biggs 25

100 pts

I went 2-1 and took 2nd at the tournament. My dice really went cold in the championship match and my opponent to an excellent job to deny my actions.

Which list did you end up rolling with?

I took

Horn with marks and fcs

Wedge with pred

Biggs with r2f2

I like the original but I might tweak it a bit for more survivability. PTL on Etahn allows for offensive action stacking while Biggs lives & turtling options when needed. On Corran, I understand the benefits of Marksmanship, but FCS sets up the second attack so I might consider PTL again to better stay alive, or similarly R5-P9 on one of the Es (Corran can use it when he's not shooting, or Etahn turtled up might not use his focus).

The core concept though has some serious appeal for me.

I decided to take wedge as a phantom counter. Also after looking at the regional results posts, I anticipated some chewie/3po lists.

Wedge did great against the phantom and to my surprise no one ran a yt.
