Rate this tourney list featuring Jan Ors

I have two pilots that I constantly try and build balanced/good lists with, Jan Ors and Horton Salm. Both of these pilots beg for gear that totally loads up their ship to make them really effective...and that means points. Ultimately, lists with either of them wind up being three ships or four ships with the good pilot/loaded ship and three ships with nothing...making Jan or Horton the obvious target.

I always play with them both on squad builder...its always been sort of an unsolvable puzzle that I keep finding myself working on.

I think I found a SERIOUSLY good Jan Ors list though tonight. So critique it please and tell me how it's still a crappy list...cause I'm actually really proud and anxious to play it!

Here is my 100pt list chock full of upgrades!

Jan Ors

K, lemme explain.

Jan has all the tools she needs, especially the EU to ensure range is either over 3 or at least 2 so she can dictate range for the Ion shooting.

On the initial merge...Jan can squad leader the Bandit to lock on to a juicy target after he already focuses. Add onto that +1 Damage dice from Ors and you've got a big 5pt focused/locked missle. Nice initial hit...easily enough to 1-shot a Tie.

Then, the battle starts proper with good dogfighting. Jan will skirt the battle arc-dodging when possible. Also adding in a damage dice for either of the Greens. The greens will try to fly Tie-interceptor style. Arc dodging when they can, focus/evade when not. Predator is made for those guys as well. Nice passive skill for them.

I dunno, this list just seems really good to me. I'm going to try it. It might be low on hit points but its fairly hot arc-dodging and those A-Wings REALLY benefit from Jan....and they are awesome all by themselves.

Anyway, critique away. I'd like to hear what anyone thinks of this.

II think it's pretty good, i don't really see too many flaws, except the lack of hitpoints and attack dice.

One thing you might try for fun is swapping out the PTLs with outmaneuver instead. I'm not sure if it is superior, but I have been doing some of that lately on my Greens (combined with predator) and it is pretty great on flanking A-Wings. I find that PTL is preferable for defense, but the predator outmaneuver combo on offense is pretty brutal.

This is a pretty nice Jan build. I usually run her like that, but with Determination instead of Squad Leader.

I think the biggest problem is that Bandit's low pilot skill. If you are facing a Swarm Tactics swarm, Mr. Bandit probably won't survive long enough to get that missile off. In fact, there are a lot of good high-PS builds out there, and that poor Bandit is just going to get eaten, I think.

I really like the Predator + Push the Limit combo. With a boost from Jan, those Green Sq. Pilots are going to do some damage!

Since these guys are really the focal point in the list....they will tend to draw a lot of fire. I think you've GOT to have PTL on them.

I DO like your build idea though, I think it would be ok in a list with only a single A-Wing. The way this list is...I think PTL is the way to go. Nice combo with the outmaneuver tho.

On shooting the bandit first...that's sort of win/win dont you think? Less shooting going after the A's or Jan is money!

Ok, so....looks like Rebel Aces won't be out in time for Nova, so I punched this list up....

Basically, it's going to be who to shoot first? A hard to lock down Jan moving at PS 8 with Green Straights and an Engine, OR Slippery Tarn with an extra point of Hull?

While you figure that out, the bandits will be blasting away, maybe with a little help from Jan on closeup shots.

This list has plenty of ships to be going after Falcon lists, and PS10 mobile Jan will be sort of a nightmare for Phantoms as She will see where they move first, then maneuver in for an Ion shot before they can recloak.

Looks halfway decent.
