Anybody else see Nera and think she makes a great anchor for flanking ships? Load her for bear with some multi range secondaries and ram her down the throat of enemy formations to keep multiple ships honest due to her ability. Meanwhile, A-wings rush the flanks knowing some of them will get free pot shots. Those that don't turtle up or peel off. Repeat. Maybe throw a Y-wing with Ion turret or switch to some Zeds flanking. Either way, Nera doesn't just disrupt, she forces a choice that sets up others.

Nera's ability only works with torpedo secondaries. No turrets. That would be ridic OP and squash the Y-wing just as you said.

Echoing the above, It would be CRAZY overpowered if Nera's ability worked with cannons. She would have to cost something like 44 points IMO.

Absolutely.
Others have mentioned this, but I think it's worth reiterating that in comparison to Dagger Squadron, Nera Dantels is +2 cost for +1 PS and an EPT. Given how good the EPT slot is, that might be worth it even without a pilot ability at all.

This bears repeating, too. It's pretty clear they're committed to making ordnance a more viable choice, which means even if you don't like Nera's ability right now, you should definitely keep in mind that it's worth re-evaluating her with each new wave of releases.

The only thing I don't like about it is trying to visualize it. Every other pilot ability, you can picture how it's something that they're good at. Nera physically defies the direction that her ship is facing. I just can't picture how that works in space. Is she making her ship do a pirouette to get those torpedoes off or something?

Picture a complete loop executed in tandem with a 360-degree roll, displacing a B-wing along its initial vector as well as perpendicular to its vector. If you had sharp reflexes and excellent situational awareness, you'd be able to take advantage of the brief window where you were facing an opponent who intended to tail you.

Great reflexes and situational awareness. In my min it's less she can do an impossible shot as much as she's so quick to acquire a target that, even as she rushes past, she gets that shot off that would normally be a safe to assume is in too small a window.
I seem to remember a scene in Top Gun where Charlie advises Maverick during a test that it's okay to cut across an attacker at "that speed" because he'd only be in their gun zone for a few seconds. Well guess what Charlie, if it's Nera you just got Maverick killed.
Nera Dantels is another thing the B-wing got that the Y-wing should have. Love it on the B-wing, but the Y-wing needs that sort of thing more.

I like it yeah she's strong with torps but she's also a point sink so you best make sure they hit, planned to do rebels once aces hit this will make a strong core.
I think we will see a Y-wing piloy that allows you to attack with a primary and secondary weapon in the same round.

pretty much, now you have to make the choice between powerful crew or powerful mods

Keyan + PTL + Bwing/E2 + Kyle = Use 2 actions, say barrel roll and TL, gain a stress. Use Keyan to eat the stress, and Kyle to generate focus.
Ten Numb + Marksmanship + Bwing/E2 + Merc Co-Op in a squad with Etabn.

The Keyan + Kyle concept has been discussed before and IIRC the consensus was the focus for defense was meh rolling one defense dice
What I am curious to try is Keyan + HLC + Opportunist + (Bwing/E2 + Merc CoPilot) (points permitting)
You realise APT is Range 1 only, and to get seven dice you'd need Opportunist and a nearby Jan Ors? The Range 1 ring around Nera I'd say's easier to dodge than a firing arc in any decent arc dodging ship.
That being said, Nera's totally brought normal Proton Torpedoes back into the game.

You mean like a YT-2400 with Outrider and HLC? Pricey... Worth it? Not sure.
