I have read many threads about diluting the game when using too many expansions. So i had an idea. Why not try to elimitate the original game and only use the big box expansions? The small expansions will of course have to be excluded since they only refer to the original game.
Bare with me, i have not thought this one through too much. In fact i was hoping you guys would help me "invent" some house rules for this. I'm not really sure its even possible whithout completley new rules.
Some examples of house rules:
If you loose all your sanity/stamina you would end up in the Congregational Hospital in Kingsport. You would also be able pay to heal your sanity/stamina at this location.
Travelling between towns would be free of charge eg all players have a rail pass at the start of the game.
Unique items can be purchased at Neil's Curiosity Shop.
Then theres the question about getting blessed, trading trophies against clues, getting common items, the terror track, starting locations for the investigators, special abilities of the investigators etc.
Why do I want to do this? Because i think my investigators have spent too much time in arkham and "its dimensions" and with the upcoming Innsmouth Horror i would really like to spend some time in Innsmouth.
Playing with this setup will probably make the game extremely difficult. But what the heck, thats what AH is all about!
So what do you guys think? Does it sound plausable? Does it sound fun? Is it possible without too much alterations to the rules?
