Allies, Antagonists and cronies

By obak, in Rogue Trader Gamemasters

I have started gm LotE and have been fleshing out the entourages of the other eigth RT, but I am at a loss concerning the servants of Hadrak Fel and Charlabelle.

Does anyone have some nice concepts for NPCs then feel free to post them here for everyone to enjoy.

Fel's main agent is Lady Ash, from the main book. Beyond her, anyone you might have in a group, who isn't a silly ass of a character, I can see him having; I DON'T see him having such a sense of humor, is all. As for Charlabelle, she sort of DOESN'T seem to have them, and that might be telling of her. Also, she is in a good position, among the competition, to be elicited for partnership, even if she doesn't advertise her dire straits. She does have some stuff to offer, and can greatly benefit from helpful PC assistance, where most of the others are jerks AND not in much need of aide.

Madamme Charlabelles entourage

Stokes, the butler.

The Stokes family have been servkng the Armelan house for countless generstions, forming a bond of loyalty that a minor inconvenience such as an orc waagh! couldn't break.

Stokes is never referred to his first name, in fact no one is sure he even have one. He is the head butler of the household governing the still sizeable servant force and is most often found ten steps behind his mistress.

Stokes fills the dual roles of senechal and void master, taking care of the day to day dealings of the ship and her crew. He is a tall man, raised from birth as a servant within the Armelan household and acts and talks like your stereotypical butler, polite, firm and in controll.

His relationship to the Armelan household is one of unbreakable loyalty.

Rudyard Armelan, the eccentric uncle

Rudyard was technically a potential inheritor of the Armellan charter of trade, but in reality he was passed up on long ago. He have since birth been more than a little odd and he have never been entrusted with any real power within the house, his father sent him off to the schola progenium and bougth him a naval comission, hoping to straigthen him out, but to no avail.

Rudyard spent his military career piloting a desk as an attache in a quiet backwater collony, seeing little to none real action but never the less retired honorably and spent the rest of his life in a quiet gentlemanly fashion, reminiscing of his military days with his friends and killing animals with over sized guns.

His biggest regret is having to leave behind his sizeable trophy collection to the savage orcs, but ever the optimist he has set out to kill one of every beast in the Koronus expanse.

Rudyard owns a sizeable collection of hunting rifles and knows how to use them, his personality is a mix of Abe Simpson and Kiplings poem IF

Lady Charlotte Armelan, Charlabelles niece

Charlotte is your stereotypical spoiled upper class girl, well educated, impeccable manners, romantically inclined and uselesss in a figth. She hates the koronus expanse and often and loudly laments her cruels fate, her mean aunt forcing her to live on a smelly ship in a wild, uncultured backwater expanse, not even a part of the Emprie proper and that all men they meet are unwashed, boorish peddlers, no better than thugs and pirates. How will she ever find a suitable husband?!

Charlotte longs for civilised company, fancy parties and nice stuff. A smooth talking PC with deep pockets could win her admiration with little effort.

Charlotte goes nowher without her pack of yipping mono-teeth piranah cyber-poodles, like cyber mastiffs, but smaller.

Skraak, kroot companion

Many years ago, Charlabelle saved Skraaks life, the exact circumstances of how and why a human would save a filthy xeno are somewhat obscured, but since then Skraak have been following his mistress across the empyrean, waiting for a chance to repay his debt and become free.

In the mean time, Skraak serves the Armelan household as best he can, often lugging around Rudyards sizeable rifle collection and putting up with Charlottes complains and whining.

Skraak have eaten one too many Eldar farseers and thus developed psychic sensitivity, this takes the form of him talking to "the spirits". Otherwise he is based of any and all indian companions ever written, especially Mani from Brotherhood of the wolf

I like this, but the niece seems a bit useless, so I don't see why Charlabelle brings her along. Everything about the character seems real, possible, and interesting, but she doesn't seem to contribute. I do like how, even broke, it's nice to see that one can still depend on family, even shifty family. I wrote up a CTB who had interest in her personally; she was mostly unaware of this, but still primarily used only him to deal with/in the rare cool stuff she found. Perhaps someday, Charlabelle will think it important to produce an heir, and folks like Aoife Armengarde prove nicely that RT's can look in many places for prospective mates.

Very nice.

Krawkin Feckwards possy

Drekk, nietzchean thug

Mercenary, sadist, mass-murderer are a few of Drekks many eptiteths. Starting his career as a mercenary working for the blasphemous noble houses of Malfi tasked with suppressin riotous populations. Drekk excelled at his job through a combination of ruthless cruelty and creative sadism, becoming almost as hated by his own men as his subjects. Many former colleagues swear by the throne that some dark god must be keeping his hand over him for Drekk have survived countless assassination attempts that would have killed a lesser man, his body have in the process been gradually replaced with low grade cybernetics, subdermal armoring and hidden weapons. Drekk has an almost supernatural ability to discover treachery and sedition and stops at no length to root it out, the many atempts on his life have made him disturbingly paranoid and he only trusts his own flesh and blood. He have many childrens with numerous slave concubines and he treats his offspring more like priced fighting dogs, encouraging them to acts of brutality and back-stabbing to prove their love and loyalty for him. Drekks appeearance is reminiscing of Mean Machine Ange from the Judge Dredd universe, minus the charming personallity, his character and his Childrens are based of Waffen SS division Dirlewanger, with Drekk as Otto Dirlewanger.

Magos Bilogis Kordis Halycon

Constantly nagging on Feckward for more slaves to put under the scalpel and with a disturbing faschination for the arts of the Dark Eldar Haemonculi. Kordis represents the darkest aspect of the Cult Mechanicus, seeing human beings only as biologicl components to be experimented upon, turned into tools and discarded when they have no further use. He was born on a Cult Mechanicus penal world and saw his parents turned into servitors whom the young Kordis had to work alongside. His overseers was impressed by the young mans lack of emotional response and deemed him a worthy prospect of initiation in the cult, from the start the young man was hard working and ambitious, but also greedy and reckless. His experiments soon caught the ire of his peers and he saw it best to find employment elsewhere. Kordis is a Magos Bilogis, he wears a robe now blackened with stains and soot to the point where the original color is no longer discernable. He prefers indirect conflict, often taking a back seat while letting servitors, virus grenades and vore weapons do the work. If he is aboard a ship with torpedo tubes, there is a chance for it to carry virus torpedoes.

Navigator Golgotha

The last daughter of the fallen navigator house of Nod, a house which practices was judged to be far to heretical and depraved for all but the most twisted of minds, hence she works for Feckward. Golgotha dreams of re-establishing her house in the Koronus expanse, far away from the prying eyes of the inquissition and other navigator houses, but for this purpose she needs a mate and she is willing to go to great lengths for a union with another navigator she deems worthy, up to the point of selling out Feckward and her comrades. Mounted over her third eye is an ancient warp artifact, a crystal lens inscribed with Yu'vath writings that boosts her navigator powers.

Chancelle, psyker wyrd

Born on a primitive feudal world, her whole life spent running from the flames of the pyre by those that feared and hated her strange powers, Chancelle was eventually caugth and sold off into slavery to Feckward. Feckward soon dicovered her powers told her about the grueling test she must endure should he turn her over to the inquissition and their black ships, about the Golden Throne and the countless psykers deemed to weak sacrificed to fuel the everburning light of the astronomican. Then he gave her a simple choice, would she serve in heaven or rule with him in hell? Chancelle is armed with a siskan fathershot musket, she loads it with gunpowder made from burnt human bones, daemonic sulphur and other ingredients like this, giving the weapon the Warp quality.

Charranoz, Dark eldar liaison

Even if life upon Krawkins vessel offers up plenty of oportunities, since Feckward does not care as long as he doesnt spoil to many of the wares, Charranoz still hates it. A trueborn dark eldar outmanouvered in the constant powerstruggle and now forced to act as a middle man betwen the Kabal and the little slave-dealing speck of amphibian fecal matter, surounded by grunting apes stinking up everyting with their oozing glands and guttural unintellgent blather is a punishment worse than death. Charranoz dreams of taking the ship and turning it over to his cabal, hoping it to be enough for his superiors to forget past mistakes, but first he wants to have some one on one time with Feckward and some of Kordis more intriguing tools. Charranoz is a skilled pilot and his Razorwing jet fighter is aboard the Chain of Dusk, Feckward plan on using him as a nasty surprise should the need for air superiority arise.

Xavier only finds relief in drinking, drugs and decadence and often and loudly curses the house Ma'kao as no better then groxes. His decadence and hatred have begun attracting attention from denizens of the warp.
