Kill marks?

By Lord Ashram, in X-Wing

Anyone know if there are kill markings out there for a wings? Just had one pull an awesome kill in a game and really want to mark him:)

Paint pens?

Some guys here have created waterslide decals using special decal paper and inkjet printers. It gives you the scope to create any kind of markings for your favourite ships.

The kill marks should be removable. If that guy dies the new pilot starts with a clean ship!

You can just make small red dots on Imperial ships or black ones on Rebel ships. TIEs are the easier kill to mark because they just need a line or ( ) to designate the ship. Making simple but distinctive Rebel ship markings is harder. I have decorative kills on the X-wing fuselages because the X-wing lends itself to it best. I'll upload pictures later tonight.

My mates and I have thought about actually adding kills for every kill a model makes, just to add some fun accounting. But if we do that it'll most likely have to be just a dot since it'll need to be simple if it's done regularly. We had the idea after one guy's tradition of taking the head off of any RISK infantryman who, on his own, held off an attack 5+ times in a row against large armies. It was a simple way of making the unit unique and adding in some tradition across the span of the games.

Maybe put death marks too!

Let's see, this guy killed 7 Tie, but died from 17 horrible death....

I'd base it on successful sorties rather than actual kills, so everytime it takes part in a mission that succeeds it gets a mark. Would also help keep track of who your best pilots are (in some cases).

My B-wings would be nothing but marks if I did this...I've been playing e same list in every event I attend for a month, and 75% of the kills my squadron earns are on the B-wings...

So there is no canon kill marks out there?

Sure there is,

i would take some red/black paint, take a toothpick and dip an end in the paint and just make some dots.

He has at least 20 kills from what I see!!!

Here's my pic of the kills painted on Wedge. Obviously he has a few more "in real life"... Anyway, there you go.

Do these kill markings remind anyone else of space invaders?

None of the early squadrons did kill marks to my knowledge, mostly because they didn't usually live long enough for it to matter. Rogue squadron was the first to do so. Wraith followed suit (I think Wedge may have been the driving force in both instances...)

Speaking of Wedge, his ship during the Bacta War was mentioned as having many kill marks.

You can see them right beneath the canopy.

I've done a bunch of homemade kill marker decals. I'm taking the bar exam tomorrow so I don't have time to upload pics, but I'll try to remember to put some up soon so you can have an idea of what I've been playing around with.

Wedge had so many they were color coded, black for singles and red for a dozen. He also had a Death Star on either end bracketing the ship kills.

Cocky bastard. lol

So... looks like little TIE fighters. Got it.

Hm. You know, I almost want to do this full time now:)

On my ship I've been using pixels (one pixel in MS paint for a TIE, or two for a bomber). The problem with doing kill markers in this scale is that they have to be REALLY small if you want more than like...two.
