So I wonder if maybe it truly was because you didn't like the games they played.... or rather how you communicated that to the group.
I could imagine that someone who was at my local store on X-Wing Sunday, stating that they don't like X-Wing... that would be one thing... but I could see them being a total jerk about it too, like "This game is Sooooo simple, it takes NO strategy at all. A trained chimpanzee could play this game and roll dice. It is so childish".
And yeah that person would probably get thrown out, and then claim it was because they didn't like the game.
I used to have a friend who was trying to get into a raiding guild in an MMO I used to play. This friend was extremely annoying and crude and wouldn't shut up. On top of that, this particular friend wasn't very good at the game. After not making it into the guild, this person went around claiming that they were denied entry based on something totally different. "they gave me the boot because I'm X" basically, and we just decided to let them go on thinking that... .because it's certainly easier than saying "No, we booted you because you suck, you are annoying, you have a filthy mouth, and honestly nobody likes you".
