Please help me figure this out. Our scum player wants it to be 'Every time you rank up, increase your income by however much you roll on the chart', but this seems excessive since with average dice he'd be increasing his salary by around 50 thrones each rank, nearly triple his starting income. Then again, if he doesn't get that, I have no idea how his salary works.
How does Scum Income work?
As far as I can tell, a scum's income doesn't increase naturally. They role the 1d10 and then the earnings result, and that is how much they make. How it scales over the course of the game, is that at rank one, they will likely only have 30ish stats, making most of the roles 15+3d10, but late game they will be making 15+4/5d10, depending on how they build there character.
I am fairly sure that it states somewhere that Scum income doesn't increase the same way with rank as everyone else's. You are just meant to get higher amounts due to your higher stats.
Of course if you go Noble you just bypass this completely... though start off pretty poor regardless.

One of the biggest reasons that Nobleborn Scum is one of the silliest things in the Inquisitor's Handbook, that practically any Scum player would want for that reason alone.
"How does Scum income work?"
Poorly.
This is one of the reasons why I'm looking forward to DH2 ...
