Well that's kind of interesting. If that IS Luke's hand, then I guess it could have survived that fall. Because he's got a robot hand and stuff.
Either way, that... DOES sound kind of interesting, if at all true. I wouldn't mind this plot, another superweapon, and frankly, I find the idea that Luke has gone missing for thirty years to be extremely intriguing.

This is really interesting, and I see absolutely no issues with it.
if it is the Suncrusher, will Admiral Daala be involved? And will the Jedi Academy Trilogy events have taken place? Kyp Durron anyone?
It also could be Vader's Hand. There was an EU book that depicted some crazy S going down regarding that hand.
Just because Han and Chewie THINK it's Luke's 'Saber, doesn't mean it is, They are old at this point.
The hand thing seems a bit iffy. Granted, most people seem to think it's the hand he lost at Cloud City for some reason. Slightly more plausible, though still ridiculous to survive re-entry, would be his prosthetic. That aside, there's not really much to go on, so I'll just sit here maintaining my cautious optimism. They can't be worse than the prequels in any case.
Nobody's asked the most important question: What stats will the hand have?
You have to remember he has the Schwartz lol...Unique if on the ice planet they have At-At ' s guarding the hidden base...Kind of a reverse empire strikes back...I bet they found olé Luke in the De go bah a system eating stew hunched over in Yodas hut ; talking with the 3 wise men (Obi wan , Vader , and Yoda )
I doubt any of this is true, and I'm not sure who would want to risk a lawsuit for violation of an NDA when they are compensated for nothing in return. Not to mention access to a script and hints at what the film might look like after hitting the cutting room implies someone with relatively high access up (if true), and with the most to lose from breach of contract (why false). Most folks working on SW have no clue what they are working on in relation to the big picture.

While I agree with much of what you said, I can say this ... I am a regular reader of AintItCoolNews, and the spoilers/advanced information they have provided in the past in regards to Movies, TV Shows, etc. have shown a huge propensity for being very accurate.
I have a bad feeling about this..... if its true, it sounds so bad, on the bright side it cant be worse than the prequels, can it? *goes over to corner and cries while humming the Imperial March
Edited by KnightHammerLuke lost his hand in Cloud City as we all know, this is conjecture; but if Luke almost got dumped into the Bespin atmosphere, (Bespin being a gas giant planet), then the hand and lightsaber may be a little difficult to recover. Then again I think in the comics his hand was recovered for cloning or something. Anyways what would Han and Chewie be doing back on Tatooine. Hmmm, a lot of speculation I suppose

This is pointless. JJ said he'd be planting false rumors. And we've had plenty of rumors before this and they've all been false. Beyond that, this isn't from Ain't It Cool News, they're just reporting on what Badass Digest is reporting.
Between now and release a lot of minor news sites are going to be trying to get free hits by reporting false information. Don't buy into it.
