All The Damage

By Corellian Corvette, in X-Wing

So, soon the B-Wing will have a crew slot, right? (hi mercenary co-pilot)

And it can take a Heavy Laser Cannon, right?

And Jan Ors HWK-290 can increase friendly ships attack by one at range 1-3, right?

And Ibtisam can re-roll one dice (yours or theirs) when she has a stress, AND:

Opportunist grants +1 attack (if they don't have evade or focus) at the cost of +1 stress.

The reason I don't have gunner, is because with 6 attack dice, one free re-roll (of your or of their) dice, then most likely not having evade or focus (Ibtisam shoots after a few other pilots) your not going to miss. Merc makes it so at long range (you don't want them to get close and fight back) you get a hit to a crit, and if Ethans around, all the better.

Sure, you could use APT for 7 attacks, or Auto blasters for 5 attacks that most cant be dodged.

Or, if you could, cluster missiles for 2 attacks at 5 (or is it one at 5 and one at 3?)

So, with the new cards coming out with wave 5 and 'aces, what combos for getting the most damage can you guys make?

This doesn't necessarily need to be for 100 point games, but escalation and epic games as well!

One at 5 One at 3.

Thanks Aminar, for crushing my dreams. :P

Will likely be better with Keyan Farlander, Opportunist, HLC. Now I have to look at builds.

Something better die early, or this setup will suffer.

Keyan Farlander (29)

Opportunist (4)

Heavy Laser Cannon (7)

Wes Janson (29)

Jan Ors (25)

Ion Cannon Turret (5)

Nien Nunb (1)

Nice set up!

Hobbie (25)

This is what I used last night. Farlander alone took out 3 TIE fighters in three rounds of shooting. 5 Dice with TL and Focus (due to ability) has a good chance to pop a TIE fighter in one go.

Wow, like fish in a barrel! Nice shooting then! :o

That sounds promising. Farlander looks sick. The offset of course is building with him in that build is very point prohibitive.

Wow, Hobbie with Opportunist looks siiiiick.

I really like this one! Brittle, but evil.

Wes + VI + anything with Opportunist is a lovely build. Farlander with the HLC gets that much better because essentially he can be TL+"Focused" every round.

Where are you getting the idea that Ibtisam lets you do anything to your opponents' (their) dice? Her ability allows her to re-roll one of her dice when attacking or defending while she has a Stress Token; I see NOTHING about her modifying someone else's die rolls.

I've been running Wes, Jan, and Ibby + HLC and Opportunist, with quite some frequency. The two hardest games I had were against a swarm and a Firespray + 2 Squints, and the latter was mostly because Ibby was the first one down. Not many ships can stand up to 5-6 dice a round.

So basically the plan is that Janson strips tokens from an enemy so that Farlander gains an extra red with his attack - at the cost of a stress.

But he can "spend" that stress token (on the condition that he rolls a focus) to give himself what essentially amounts to a free focus for his attack - keeping his focus for defence, or doubling up with a TL.

That's just naughty!

Hobie's nicely along the same lines but I'd swap him for Dutch ....... but that's only because I like Y-Wings and Dutch, not because I put any real thought into it :D

Ah, true, I just pulled out the card again, and it does say YOUR dice. I guess I misread that part the first time, good catch. Maybe I thought it said a dice, or something? Anyways, good catch!

Could we wait until have it???, please, greettings.

Wes is great with just about anyone with Opportunist slapped on them, but what is so cool about the Wes, Farlander, Hobbie squad is that both Farlander and Hobbie have the ability to get rid of their stress from Opportunist before the end of the round, freeing up their next turn maneuvers.

I played against an Ibby with HLC and Jan before, it was absurdly powerful. Turn 1 it stripped the shields off a b-wing

You really should consider not posting this request in every thread that is about unreleased material. It is pointless. People like doing this, so just ignore these threads.

unreleased material is new stuff, and (mostly) everyone likes to visualize what they could do with the stuff they don't have. :P

Ah...so has anyone tried this against a R7 heavy squad? Since they force attacker rerolls first...the attacker cannot then reroll.

Just curious...

Hmm. If you were my opponent, I would have all my ships attack Farlender with his 1 evade.

Farlander is the new Howlrunner. I wouldn't give him more than PtL in most cases because you know that he's going to get targeted hard.
