Greetings and salutations. Finally after a long spell I'm gonna
be able to get some table time this weekend. Putting
It out for some phantom/bomber builds from
the imperial geniuses out there. Much appreciated

Whisper Advanced cloak Veteran Instincts Recon Spec (or Echo with a fire control) 40 points
3x Gamma siesmic charge 60 points
The gammas should probably stick together. Even the treat of getting three bomb templates will change how opponents think. Take advantage of hat with your hot rod Phantom!
Phantom bomber lists have some interesting challenges, due to costs of ordnance and phantoms. . The more ships we have, the more barebones we have to be - let's look at some basics... I'm going to focus primarily on only phantom and bomber builds.. The other thing to note is that the proximity mine is probably bad juju for our phantom - so we won't use it.
Maximum number of ships we can fit with Phantom Bomber combination = 5
Scimitar x4 + Phantom (89 points)
Scimitar x3 + Phantom x2 (98 points)
So - immediately, we realize that there's only one 5 ship build that makes sense - and that we probably need to drop to 4 ships if we're going to really open up some room for unique pilots and weapons...
The scimitar + seismic or flechette x4 , and Shadow + intelligence agent or Sigma +SPA seems to be where we are with that build...
There is an interesting build in
Scimitar x 2 + Howlrunner , Sigma Phantom x2. Though you've got to fly the sigma's as flankers, and hope the howlrunner group is enough towards endgame.
So - let's look at 4 ship builds.
Phantom x3 Bomber X1 -> Phantoms cost too much for upgrades and named pilots, bomber ends up barebones.
Phantom x2 Bomber X2 -> A decent balance - could be some fun here
Phantom x1 Bomber X3 -> Gives us probably the best hammer and anvil builds...
Sigma Gamma (100)
Sigma + SPA + Intel agent X 2
Gamma + Flechette + Seismic charge X2
The 2 and 2 builds all end up running short on points quickly, you can use a named phantom, but then you're pretty much at barebones for the rest - and Rhymer is expensive to run, while Jonus doesn't help without extra secondaries.... So let's look at the 1/3 builds...
The Phantom Jonus
Captn Jonus + Squad leader
Scimitar + Flechette + Cluster missiles + munitions failsafe
Scimitar + ion pulse + flechette + munitions failsafe
Shadow Squadron + Advanced Cloaking
Jonus rerolls missiles, gives actions - possibly to the phantom, and the failsafes give you anti phantom help with the flechettes.
Major Cloak.
Major Rhymer + APT + Ion Pulse + PTL
Scimitar + Seismic X2
Sigma + Intel Agent
Rhymer gets one brilliant APT shot - ion pulse sets it up if you need - the phantom's intel agent can help the scimitars to plant the seismic charges.
Echoes of the Dark Side
Echo + Rec spec + VI + ACD + FCS
Gamma + Seismic x3
(edit - gmta with the above ninja'd post....)
Echo and the bunny squadron
Echo + Decoy + SPA
Scimitar + Flechette + Ion Pulse missile + Munitions failsafe x 3
Scimitars run interference with stress and ion, setting up shots for Echo - Echo can mess with firing order...
Phantom Proton
Whisper + ACD + VI
Scimitar + Proton bomb X3
Here - the Scimitars split up, and say - "stay away from me" with the proton bomb, giving you board control, while whisper moves all over the place - you can also substitute ECHO and gain FCS....
Finally - two three ship builds - and something completely different...
Rock the Rhyme it's Tricky.
Major Rhymer + APT + Ion pulse
Echo + VI + ACD
Delta Squadron Pilot.
(Use ion pulse to set up the TL + Focus needed for the APT), Any of these ships could be bad-ass in the endgame, If Rhymer lives to endgame, keep his missiles intact....)
Captain Whisper.
Jonus + Wingman + seismic charges
Delta Squadron pilot + HLC.
Whisper + VI + ACD
(Whisper flanks, Jonus flies with the delta - removing stress from the turns, and granting rerolls to the HLC.)
Math Club
Alpha Squadron Pilot
Omicron Group Pilot
Sigma Squad + Intel agent
Gamma + Seismic
Night beast.

Quote aside, i appreciate the depth. Gives me quite a base for
experimenting this weekend. Cheers
