Online purchases?

By Plainsman, in X-Wing

Hey guys! This is for those of you that purchase XWing online.

What website(s) do you use to make your purchases?

Thank you!

CoolStuffInc (http://www.coolstuffinc.com/) is where a lot of people order online. Small based ships are $9.99 and large based ships are $19.99, overall netting you a 33% discount off of MSRP. If you order over $100, or are based in Florida and close to one of their stores, you qualify for free shipping. I've have ordered from them many times and have always had a great experience.

Miniature Market (http://www.miniaturemarket.com/) offers the same prices as CoolStuffInc, however, I like to order from CoolStuffInc more because I am also a board gamer and that really helps fulfill the $100 requirement for free shipping.

I doubt that you have to be close to a Coolstuff store I live in NJ and get free shipping for $100+ orders that ship from FL so you should be fine anywhere in the US, though I've read that International fees apply.

Um... A new thing called EBAY. Most sellers have online EBAY stores, Warstore, Art's, NWS, and many others. It should be around a while. Theres also this thing called Amazon.

The warstore.

I do all of my shopping there.

Neil is great and I've never had a problem.

Plus they answer their **** phone.

Oh I meant that if you lived close enough to one of their stores you could just go pick it up in store :D

I live 30 minutes from one and I STILL don't go there! /diva

I presume from your reply you've had issues with other places. Which ones would you say to definitely avoid?

Thanks!

I've had very good experiences with Miniature Market, in terms of both price and customer service.

I ordered from Amazon.co.uk, bol.com, spellenrijk.nl, gamefreak.nl or gismogames.nl (whichever was cheapest/had stock at the time I had the urge); can you guess which corner of the globe I'm at? ;)

I second that. Amazon and Ebay both have very good prices.

Support your FLGS!

I play at peoples homes more then I do my LGS, so I feel less need to support them. Although I do buy plenty from them, I just can't justify giving them $70-80 over the online price.

I made a neat guide to places where you can buy x - wing with pros and cons

Thanks for that, I didn't know that cool stuff bought MtG cards. I'm sitting on a few dual lands so I'll have to keep that in mind next time I make a big order.

yep.. sold 5 of my revised duals for around 700 bones to my local gaming shop. got half in store credit (which become the core of my x wing collection) and the rest cash which i gave to the wife (bonus points). The store sold all five for just over 1k in a week. I got x wing / wife got cash / local gaming store made money and got support. Win / win / win.

i was thinking of selling them online, could probably get more for them though the lgs was in my hometown while visiting.. couldn't resist helping out old friends. ... edit: might have sold 6 duals.. can't remember now...

I offered them to the owner of my LGS already but he didn't seem interested, they're not interested in buying much.

Say what? I still have some Alphas MtG. I stopped playing around Ice Age....LOL. Never bought to trade, just bought to play for fun. I am a bit OCD when it comes to print so they are sleeved though.

But they are mine own....my preciousssesssss.... :)

90% of my stuff is from miniaturemarket.com, it's the lowest prices I found (9.99 for small, 19.99 for large), even with shipping cost included it's often cheaper than amazon with free shipping for the same order. Orders over $100 have free shipping, or if you live close enough you can just pick your order up from their store. I got the cr90 with gr75 for around $105.

I've had good experiences with both miniature market and CoolStuff.

My only complaint I guess is when I ordered my cr90 from MM they didn't pack it well and the box got a little banged up, model survived just fine though.

I have ordered all my x wing stuff from Miniature Market and have had no problems at all. I usually will buy at least 2 or 3 of each ship when a new wave comes out and that is enough to get me free shipping usually. Their customer support is also very good as I had to change an order one time and it was not a problem.

Thanks guys! I'll be moving in a couple of months and I'll need a new supplier as I'll be too far away from my FLGS to rely on buying from them regularly, so online it will be! It appears MM will be new favorite website! And I like the prices too!

Thanks again for the feedback!
