I used to love D&D, and then WotC (a) decided they'd rather employ a rotating cast of freelancers on a temporary, as-needed than have a salaried design staff helping craft a consistent mechanical and thematic feel, and (b) looked at the rise of Pathfinder and decided the lesson to learn was that 4e wasn't retro enough.

So now I play Fate, which (among its other advantages) is cheap.

Didn't care for 4E, and I don't have high hopes for 5E or Next or whatever it's called.

Everyone knows maths is useless and no one ever uses it, that's why we use the barter system instead of something stupid like a currency, one ship is a dozen eggs or a packet of bacon easy peasy.

You can't trust numbers 117% of people know that.

I downloaded the free rules, but I'm confused as hell.

I bought the 5e starter box, the rules for advantage and disadvantage seem cool and hopefully other stuff got streamlined.
