For 24 Points, which is better? Doomshuttle or 2 APs?
Or is an Ion/Tactician/FCS shuttle better?

Really depends on what else you're running (and therefore what you need out of your 24 points), what you'll be running against and the all important personal preference...
Depends on what you're running.
AP?
AP?
Better yet. In a theoretical question I damage output. Which does better? Jousting value?
This assumes good cow flying where you get a target most of the time. And a list where getting behind the shuttle will incur the wrath of the rest of the ships.
(Takes two variables out of the discussion )
going against rebel or lots of shields? 2 AP
going against imperial or lots of hull? Doomshuttle.
Also are you running lots of glass cannons? Doom shuttle.
Running a fire spray, defender, or more point heavy list run AP's.
AP's have more damage but can be one shotted. It takes a logic focused fire and a little luck to destroy a shuttle in one round.
I'm using him to round out Rexler with HLC+Outmaneuver+Engine.
4 AP 99
2 AP +Doomshuttle 99
I feel Doomshuttle in general does better against Phantoms and Interceptors. At least it will do damage, whereas you're almost guaranteed to lose an AP in the first combat round so you're really flying at -12 points.
Why does the Doomshuttle go better with glass cannons? I thought it would be the other way around.
Because if you run a squad of glass cannons. Say 4 rgp's. In order to be totally annihilated, your opponent must roll 12 un cancelled hits (not counting crits)
In the other extreme, in order to totally kill 4 shuttles, your opponent need to roll 40 un cancelled Hits. (Not counting crits)
There's usually a happy medium in there somewhere.
I was toying with almost this exact same list, but I am leaning toward doom shuttle version personally. Lambda is one of my favorite ships.
I think a Doomshuttle.

It would be 2 shuttles in that case, not 4. Anyways, it depends entirely on what is shooting you, some stuff have a much harder time chopping high agility ships while having a great time munching through high HP low agility ships (tie fighters and z's for example).
I think how many ships your other 76 points are being spent on is the biggest factor.
If they are being spent on 2-3 ships, you might want the 2 ties, if they are being spent on 4+ ships, then the shuttle fits in nicely.
I love flying the Lambda, and will be giving the doomshuttle a go this weekend, at least three times. I suspect in most cases, I'd rather it than the two Academy TIEs, especially since my casual games are 150 points minimum, so they stretch further. I'm thinking two Onyx Defenders with Engine Upgrades and HLCs, Doomshuttle, and a PTL Soontir. Ought to be a lot of fun, even if it's not entirely "competitive".
