I've seen a lot of people refer to it as somehow granting the evade action or an evade token but 1)where is that coming from? and 2) seems kinda lame, no? I'm totally interested in what this might be so I'd love to get some thoughts on it!
Tactical Jammer Mod (in VT-49 pack): What is it? Ideas?
Once per round when you are the target of an enemy target lock you may gain an evade token instead of a red target lock token.
idk but should be cool either way

That would be fluff-tastic. But the card looks like it only has a few words of text.
1)where is that coming from?
the ship comes with an evade token.
Also it has 0 green dice, so it could really use an effect like that.
Edited by JaggedLittleFelMy guess would be its a new Large ship only mod. No idea what its effect would be.

Didn't the Defender come with an evade token with no need for it in its cards?

The 'Modification' text does seem offset to the left a bit, implying a conditional. I'll be disappointed if it just grants evades/evade actions to large ships. That would also neuter the Millennium Falcon's Title card too.
How about something like this.
When your ship is locked onto gain a evade token.
I just wanted to remind everyone that while the TIE Defender was pictured with an evade token the actual product did not include one, and featured two focus tokens instead.
It is possible that the VT-49 could come with an evade token that has something to do with one of its upgrade cards but it also may not.
Tactical jammer: when you acquire a target lock, gain an evade token.
Or perhaps
When you use...
Or when you preform a green maneuver...
Even 1 extra "HP" a round will really help it out.

Yes, but if you look at other modifications with conditions, the condition comes first and the word modification is to the right. APL for example say large ship only, modification. Not modification, large ship only.
I'm going to say is like a sensor jammer but rather than turn a hit to a focus it turns either a crit or hit to a blank
Kind of makes sense
Since it had no evade dice maybe this would keep it from dying so fast.
Prevent some dmg, but would probably cost 5-6 pts
Edited by Krynn007It look like "Your ship..." and then "evade..." on the second line. That combined with the very little text makes me fear it's just gaining the evade action. Heck, the second line doesn't even need to start on the margin.

Second line looks more like "enemy" to me...
What about a Large Ship Mod that added the Jam Action used by the GR-75?

I was going to post that I'm pretty sure you can see enough to deduce this is what it says. Got that impression with the initial announcement. Kinda goes hand in hand with mara jade as well.
If it grants the Jam Action(which it likely but not necessarily doesn't due to lack of a rules card) Phantoms will never be viable again...
The offset title makes me think of "Modification, VT-49 only"
After that it seems like there is:
"Your Ship..."
(Can't read the second word)
I don't think that it's simply adding the evade action. If you look at the Falcon title, it is specifically worded as "Your action bar gains the..."
Also, things that add an existing action to a ship use the icon, like the MF title, they don't write it out. So if it was adding an evade action it would use the little wavey line, not the word evade. If it is using the word, it is more likely an evade token, not the action.
Once per round you may play this video:
Yeah, I don't think it would just be to gain the evade action. For one thing I doubt they'd make two titles for two different ships do exactly the same thing.
I don't think its any of these suggestions.
Your ship XXXXXXXXXXXX
enemy XXXXXXXXXX
So its not gaining anything on its action bar, so it cant be jamming (also it has no energy).
I'm putting my money on it adding an evade. Having 0 agility seems like it needs some help.

"Your ship cannot be the target of"
"enemy missiles or torpedoes"
It's the only thing that I could think of that would fit in 2 lines. For a 0 agility ship which is specifically vulnerable to assault missiles, it would kind of make sense.

Sounds a wee OP don't you think?
Given that almost nobody uses ordnance, no. ![]()
