Any way, nostalgia's for geeks. I played EotE with a group most of whom knew little to no EU, and a couple of whom proffered to not even like Star Wars. We all had fun. My sneaky clever GM trick was to prowl the interwebs and print off pictures of aliens, droids, people, space ships etc to show the players what they were looking at. It helped.
