The wording on this card, taken literally, seems very overpowered. According to the card text, the pilot contributes its Force icons to the Force struggle even if the 181st TIE Interceptor is not committed to the Force and/or if this card itself is exhausted.

That is correct but I don't see it as over powered. It helps Figher decks continue to be aggressive and also be able to try and control the Force.

So far, I think our best case scenario for this card is having Baron Fel as its pilot, contributing 3 to the Force struggle. These days, I don't think that's too hard for LS decks to overcome.

Of course, we may see other pilots with high Force icon count like Darth Vader. But even then, Darth Vader is unique, so by having him in play as a Pilot, the LS doesn't have to worry about encountering him as a unit. There are definite trade-offs so I don't think it's ridiculous yet. Like I said, we just have to wait and see what other pilots the DS get.

Plus. you're not always going to want to wait for just Fel to play as a pilot (as I'm sure there are pilots with only 1-2 force icons), so it doesn't seem too powerful, just good at best. Plus in Navy you're going to want to attack with that TIE so its at danger of being lost.
