In casual settings I routinely play theme-based lists. Only have Imperial but thinking about trying Republic.

I probably would not try these lists in tournaments, but I have fun playing them.

I like my "SUV in the Compact Parking Spot" list

Bounty Hunter + Anti-Pursuit Lasers

Omicron Shuttle Pilot + Anti-Pursuit Lasers

Academy TIEs.

Of course, it's not as much fun for my opponent, when they find themselves sitting on top of my large ships being dealt anti-pursuit fire.

Hobbie, Tarn, Cracken, Roark. Makes for great fun, while still being effective.

I don't believe bad list building makes for fun games. (Although Improbably manueverable ships can. See Tycho with Push the LLimit and Daredevil.

Chewbaca + Predator + C3P0 + Lando + MF + Engine upgrade
