Assault Missiles and Passing Stress Tokens

By Chrinch, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Sorry if these questions have been posted but I can't find the answers anywhere so I just want some simple clarification.

First Question:

If I were to use my assault missiles in a cluster of friendly and enemy ships, would all ships (friend and foe) within range of my target take damage? One of our players said it's just enemy ships take damage, friendly ships avoid it.

Second Question:

If I use Captain Yorr as my unique pilot for the Lambda shuttle and I also have Soontir Fel who would recieve a stress token because of a k-turn, can I pass the stress token off to Captain Yorr and still recieve my free focus token?

Assault Missiles explicitly says "Each other ship." Not "enemy," "other." So friendlies take the damage as well. Missiles can't tell friend from foe, they just blow up.

Yes. The assault missile hits everyone.

No. Soontir Fel's pilot ability is contingent upon receiving the stress. If something happens to that stress before it reaches Fel, he does not get a free focus token.

I thought I was finally going to answer something first...

You did answer the 2nd question first... So that makes it first.5 or something. ;)

Captain Yorr (From the FAQ)

If, through his pilot ability, Captain Yorr
intercepts a stress token that is part of the
cost of triggering an ability
on another ship
(such as Soontir Fel or Opportunist), that
ability’s effect does not resolve.

If Captain Yorr intercepts a stress token that
was the result of an ability (such as Push the
Limit), that ability resolves, then Yorr receives
the stress token.

That should answer the second part fully :)

Well the wording on the card is pretty clear that Yorr takes the stress instead. If it was a matter of Fel taking the stress and then Yorr allowing him to pass it off, that'd be one thing, but Yorr's ability makes it so Fel never receives the stress in the first place.

If you can keep a ship with Wingman near Fel, they can pull that stress off of him at the start of the combat phase...... although I will say that is much easier said than done considering Fel moves close to last if not last and is hypermobile

But if you plan your movements well, you should be able to keep a fellow Squint close enough.

Honestly though, stress on Interceptors is no big deal. Especially Fel. Even more so, Fel with PtL.
