Kingsport Head

By Lord_Nerdhammer, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

I just played my first game with the Kingsport expansions and i had a question about Kingsport head.

The rules clearly state that investigators can not move into the kingsport head useing Spells, equipment, etc.

I was wondering if there was any consensus on if you could move out of kingsport head using alternate methods?

This is pretty significant because getting the "changed" card would normall be a 6 round affair, but if you could take the patrol wagon (or other transportation) out of Kingsport Head locations then you could cut time time required in half.

I'm leaning towards NOT being able to take alternate methods out because it seems more in step with the feel of Kingsport head. (But then again in the H.P. Lovecraft story i just read, the guy who made it to Kingsport Head just climbed down the cliff after partying with some guardians.)

Thoughs?

Yes, you can. If you have the Patrol Wagon, for example, and you're in the Strange High House, you can immediately move to any location or street in arkham (other than kingsport head locations).

Yeah, I think it's OK to leave by special means. You just can't enter by special means.

Does that include being LiTas? If you're LiTaS, can you move back to the Strange High House? I always assumed you probably could, although I never actually did it because I don't use Kingsport much.

Huh. I thought about that too—I would say no. "Any means" is any means .

They thought of it too. Page 7

"Returning from Being Lost
in Time and Space
Investigators who are lost in time and space may choose to
return to a street area or location in Kingsport, just as they
would return to an Arkham street area or location.

EXCEPTION: As described below, investigators cannot
return to any Kingsport Head location from Lost in Time
and Space."

THE KINGSPORT HEAD

The Causeway, Wireless Station, and Strange High
House in the Mist locations are all part of the mysterious
Kingsport Head. This area is very difficult to enter
and travel in. Investigators who enter the Causeway or
Wireless Station must immediately end their movement.
In addition, investigators may not move directly into any
of the Kingsport Head locations using spells, equipment,or through other unusual methods, such as returning from
being lost in time and space. Instead, they must move to
the Harborside streets and enter the Causeway normally.

Which means if you're going to take the Patrol Wagon to Kingsport Head, you actually have to move to a space near (but not directly in) The Causeway, and move onto The Causeway next turn, ending your movement. It's a tough trip!
