Dark Trooper and the Other projects

So I noticed someone mentioned that Dark Trooper Phase 3 made it into the beta book and apparently made it into the CRB but the Phase 1 and 2 didn't as far as I can tell. So I am wondering if anybody did stats for the other 2 phases?

I also thought this be an appropriate place to drop in any other projects and stats for those projects for those who were looking for them. This could include both Rebel and Empire projects so go to it folks.

I once had an imperial admiral that had a project that which the main goal was about breaking the .5 hyoerdrive barrier.

There were other aspects to the project of course. His base was a modified interdicter that the gravity generators were trying to find a way to launch non hyper capable objects into hyperspace. The field could be expanded to include several squads of TIEs, taking them with the interdictor into hyperspace.

The admiral's personal craft was a lambda shuttle that had most of the cargo space conveeted to a unique .25 hyperdrive. Complete hangar queen that unless it was maintained to such ridicuously high standards. The whole unreplacable drive would be lost.

My reading of the stats gave me the impression that the Dark Trooper Phase II was the one statted in the book, and that the Phase I and Phase III were the ones left out. (The Phase II saw larger production numbers than the Phase III, which, depending on your canon source, only saw between one and three ever made.)

I plan to start an AoR campaign based around the Dark Trooper Project in the next two weeks or so, with the PCs taking the place of Kyle Katarn. (I'm taking advantage of the fact that none of my players have ever played Dark Forces, so the campaign almost writes itself.) I was planning on using the slightly less powerful Dark Trooper stats given in the AoR beta as a basis for the Phase I Dark Trooper (just add vibro-sword!), the stats in the Core Rulebook for the Phase II Dark Trooper, and some special tweaking for the Rom Mohc in the Phase III Dark Trooper exo-suit.

Yeah, phase 2 is in the book. I'd offer to stat it out, but I'd stat it based on the original dark forces, not the later drek. Don't feel like getting into an argument with some fanboy because I statted the phase 3 as a suit of armor.

I've seen "canon" sources that are all over the place with regard to the Dark Troopers. Some sources state that both the Phase II and Phase III were wearable, others that the Phase III had multiple units produced, etc. I tend to just go with whatever works for my game, with an eye towards canon. Fortunately, most of my players are fairly ignorant about that little bit of Star Wars lore, which is fun, because it's one of my favorite.

And yes, I actually made stats for the Dark Trooper Phase I (Reduced it's soak a little and gave it a Vibrosword, as well as training in it), Phase II (gave it Costosis armor, since it being made out of Phrik was a major part of the game), and Phase III (I mostly just changed the Phase II to a Nemesis and adjusted the gun a little bit. I'm a bit divided as to whether I should actually make it Rom Mohc in the armor or some other guy, or just use this a generic template to make a fully-formed campaign BBEG out of). I also actually made a Dark Trooper Phase 0, which was implied by a WotC article I believe to be an experimental unit of Storm Troopers with cybernetics. All I did was take the standard Storm Troopers and add some cybernetics... was considering maybe adding Cortosis on their armor too, not sure, and gave them Light Repeaters.I'm currently running 2 campaigns, but with the same players, and the events are somewhat intertwined. The first campaign accidentally got involved with some factories producing them, and ended up fighting a prototype Phase I (i.e., one I didn't bother to fully stat). The others are playing through Beyond the Rim, and I'm adapting some bits to say that the Empire wants that cybernetics chick because she was the head of the Phase 0 project, and they want her back to work on the rest (and will add an encounter with a group of Phase 0 Troopers that will give the players the fight of their lives so far). I'll probably add more bits from the Dark Forces games, because I love them so very much.

It's still considered a Rival, but its soak value increased from 7 to 8, and its wound threshold increased from 14 to 16. Its agility was also increased from 2 to 3. Its plasma shell assault cannon now crits on two advantages, instead of three.
