Dear OP,
You haven't seen the dial yet. The sky was falling about the Lambda shuttle until the dial was revealed. Wait until you have a clearer picture before crying about a ship being OP.

If they have a pilot skill advantage they can barrel and boost into that blind spot. The Range 1 band is also much bigger than it looks on the Range Ruler, it's the length of Range 1 plus the base length of the ship you're shooting.
The Outrider chooses between a mediocre turret that has TIE advanced syndrome (not enough punch for a high cost ship), a cannon that forward arcs only, or a 360 cannon that either has a blind spot (Range 1 for Heavy Laser Cannon and Range 2-3 for Autoblaster) or is a 1 damage ion cannon.
there's one ship in the game that can barrel roll and boost, that's not gonna happen a lot.
Any ship that has a barrel roll and an EPT could potentially barrel roll and boost.

Your name makes me hungry. Perhaps you should go post in the "How do I get out of here?" thread.

Not to mention the Phantom barrelrollroll.
Phantom barrelrollroll, or trollololol? I'll leave that for others to decide.
I dunno I don't fear a two dice turret and I'm pretty sure I can get a ship into range one and keep it there by blocking the ship with ps1 academy pilots.
The Outrider looks fun... for wrecking doomsaying Imps.

That sounds rather mean-spirited if you don't know about the 5+ pages of breakfast on that thread
I've had a hankering for French toast all day.
If it's to win, then I don't think the outrider title is all that useful. Those five points could be invested in other maneuverability upgrades to make it easier to get ships in the front firing arc, and it wouldn't require sacraficing the primary weapon. Even if you don't manage to get a ship in the front arc, you can still take shots with the 2 dice primary turret. Of course if the maneuver dial is bad, then the title might well be worth it.
I do think the HLC + title would make for some good non-tournament games. The range 1 blind spot could be fun!
I hope they include a new cannon. The low res card fans don't look too promising in this regard, but who knows...
Am I the only one that's intrigued with playing it with a HLC and no title? Should be easy enough to keep stuff in its front arc.
I get that it is fun to run "what if ..." scenarios, throw ideas by others on the forum for feedback, etc.
One thing I don't get, and I guess I am simply too shallow or stupid to ever understand, is how people can make blanket statements such as "YT-2400 is way underpriced!" WHEN THE XAXT-**** THING HAS NOT EVEN BEEN RELEASED YET !!!
Further, you don't even have the complete set of information (cards, abilities, dial, etc.). You haven't played a single game with it, you haven't seen how it may be utilized in a group of homogeneous or heterogeneous ship configurations, etc.
This has to be my biggest pet peeve with this particular forum ...
Patience grasshopper. Patience.

I agree that it looks to be on the cheap side in terms of points.
I think the easiest comparison is with Firespray - a competitve ship. Let's guess the basic YT-2400 should cost around 31-32. You can add an ion cannon for 3 to get a comparable price to the basic Firespray. I think having a front ion cannon and a 2-dice turret is significantly better than a front-and-rear 3 dices. The other significant difference is the barrel roll. Unless there is a surprising major lack on its maneuver dial (lack of Green banks or K-turn), it looks like it is slightly on the cheap side.

That is less important on a turret ship. Still important, but not as important. The Outrider would be playable as is with the Hawks dial or the Shuttle dial. But it's probably at least as good as the Firesprays dial given it's in universe description.Plus, we don't know the dial!!!!!!
It is impossible to judge the worth of a ship in this game without knowing its maneuver dial, the dial is the single most important element in a ships effectiveness and points efficiency.
I'm inclined to mention that having a 1 turn on a turret ship is HUGE. in the YT-1300 being able to turn sharp 1 every turn is invaluable, you can sit doing circles around an asteroid while your opponent has to keep performing K-turns to keep you in Arc.
I cant tell you how much I would love the Firespray even more if it had a 1 Turn on its dial.
as others have said Dials are a big part of the game, in particular the colour of the manouvres as well that has to be considered, I have had to make some internal adjustments with the wave 4 ships that have green 2 banks instead of the typical green 1 banks.
Outer Rim Smuggler is 27 points. If the 2400 follows the cost pattern of the firespray and shuttle the cheapest 2400 pilot will be about 30 points. The higher PS 2400 pilots are at about the same cost point that the 1300 pilots would be at if they didn't have the major stat increases on unique pilots. To get the 2400 up to similar firepower as the YT1300 you would have to add the outrider title and heavy laser cannon which puts Dash Rendar at 2 points more than the cost of Han Solo.
The YT2400 seems well within existing cost trends to me

Which is to say, TRy the outrider with the Hawk 290 Dial. It'll still perform well. ![]()

Not at all, I'm really looking forward to slow-rolling in the back field, lobbing HLC down range. And if they get in range one 3 attack dice isn't bad.
I think the Outrider title is too many points for what it does.
49 Points for Dash+Outrider+HLC+VI
...or...
49 Points for Dash+HLC+Predator+Rec Spec
I like the versatility of the second build waaay more. Still has an HLC for damage but with predator and recon backing it up, it hits a lot harder. And it's better defensively too with the focus and no blind spot to hide in.
If taking the Outrider title at all, VI is pretty much mandatory. Barrel rolling effectively is essential with the Outrider, and VI allows you to react as best you can. But then you want to bid for initiative too so you've got to build to 99-98 points. So in a lot of cases the Outrider title is going to cost more like 7-9 points when all is said and done. That's too much for me.

Speculation on that dial?
I think I'll wait until the full stats are out.
That said I'd be more than happy to fly against an Outrider list with a TIE swarm, Space Cows, Interceptors, Bombers, even Vader. After it's out and played with and against we will have a better idea methinks.
I actually see it more on the Generic. Just run it for 42 points, then have 58 points of in your face Z-95s and X-Wings. Use it as a Sniper. Try to bait it way back or off to the side and pincer your opponent.Am I the only one that's intrigued with playing it with a HLC and no title? Should be easy enough to keep stuff in its front arc.

Did the points cost of the generic get released/leaked? Or is 42 a guestimation? Regardless, yeah, I could see the title being more useful on the generics if you have a threatening enough distraction heading their way.
Still not sure it would be worth it even then. First of all, you can't barrel roll to react at that point. I'm sure it'll have a 1 forward maneuver, so slow-rolling should be easy enough anyway. When they put the pressure on, just zoom past and use the attack 2 turret for a turn, then flip around and use the HLC again.
But I DO think generics will be great with APLs and intelligence agents. Big Frisbees of hot lava flopping around the table. And if they're in the scrum, they'll have a lot of range 1 shots.

I think it'll be similar to the firespray. I think they realized the falcon's 1-turn is too good on a big ship, doubly so for one with a built-in barrel roll
