This cycle hasn't even ended and i can't wait for the new one.
Looks like it will be possible to make a Rebel Capital Ship deck. And this new pilot mechanic sounds really neat.

It's nice to see the Pilot cards (Black Squadron Pilot, Wedge Antilles, etc.) being expanded into a Force cycle theme. Baron Fel's set is gross...pun intended. His 181st TIE Interceptors will certainly open the door to Navy Vehicle decks that can adequately defend against Sleuth Scouts without splashing anything.
Seriously, look at this thing.
Edited by MarthWMasterInteresting that this was announced. A few of us on the cardgamedb forums had just been taking about more pilot cards. I'm excited for this!
Am I missing something, or does Hobbie not actually DO anything as a pilot?
Also, I wonder if Wedge, Hoth Luke, and the Tie pilot from the core set will be errata'd to use the Pilot keyword.

Delta One's reaction allows to put a focus token on each participating enemy unpiloted vehicle unit in the engagement. Using pilots might become viable to prevent negative effects.

I'm not sure if an errata will be necessary. "Piloted unit" may be worded as "any unit with a Pilot attached to it". Wedge and Hoth Luke ale already Pilots.
Edited by FbaranowPilot Luke is already cheaper to drop in as a pilot, so errata is not necessary, and Wedge at 2 cost fullfills pilot condition plus his ability. I don't think any errata would be necessary. Can't wait to see Scum pilots and fighters, and of course more love for the Y-Wings ![]()

Plus Pilot Luke has an automatic bail out ability.
Can't get enough love for rebel vehicles. I love them all equally ![]()
I agree, no errata will be necassary for the three pre-existing pilots. I guess the rules will make clear that the Pilot. trait is what triggers the piloting condition. Not the "Pilot(X)" keyword which is simply short-hand for "Reduce the cost to play this card to X if it is played as an enhancement. You may play this card on a friendly Vehicle unit as an enhancement"
After all, Rumours at the Cantina and Looking For Droids didn't get errata'd when BoTF introduced the "Influence" Keyword.
Though I can see them updating the pre-exiting Pilot cards (and the "Influence" cards) when they reprint them.
I wonder how they will officially announce the new rules linked to this capability though. It's not like they can easily add an additional rule-booklet to each package like they did with BoTF. I guess they'll go with a "rule-expansion card" like what's done for the X-Wing miniature game. Though I wouldn't mind seeing an updated core Rulebook in pdf-format (maybe with the non-challenge deck Multiplayer rules added as well)
I'm also curious whether these new pilots will call for a limit of pilots one can play on a vehicle. Just imagine ... three or four pilots on Rogue Three would make it a crazy juggernaut and wouldn't fit flavour-wise either ... T47's are two-seaters.
Oh boy ... I'm more psyched-out for this new Force Cycle than I am for the new Deluxe expansion.
I can see it now ... attack with Rogue Three ... then Stay on Target to slap pilot Luke or Wedge on it ![]()
Is there a way to exchange old cards for their updated, reprint versions? I still have an Heir to the Iron Throne card from AGoT, prior to its "House Targaryen Only" errata. As a Nedly player, I really appreciate the change, and since my main deck uses the card, I'd love there to be some way to get the current version without re-buying the deluxe set it comes in (the single never seems to be available thru Team Covenant). Just curious if anybody has successfully tried doing this.

We actually have 4 current Pilot trait cards (the 3 everyone's thinking of, and Rookie Pilot). All of them could be put into play as an enhancement with the Stay on Target fate card. However, without errata, Luke, Wedge, and Black Squadron Pilot will not give their normal abilities to the ship they're placed on via Stay On Target. They only have abilities that are active when played as enhancements. Presumably, the full rules for the Pilot keyword will include that they have their piloting ability whenever they're attached as enhancements, which would be a good thing to give the existing pilots so that you didn't have to remember if you played Wedge on his speeder or put him in play via Stay On Target.
One other note on updating Luke, Wedge, and Black Squadron Pilot to use the Pilot keyword, it would be a mechanical change to those cards. As of right now, Luke and Wedge can only enhance Speeder or Fighter units, and Black Squadron Pilot only Fighter units. The Pilot keyword allows you to attach the unit as an enhancement to any Vehicle unit. So Luke having "Pilot (2) (While this card is piloting a Speeder or Fighter unit, enhanced unit gains Unit, Tactics)" is significantly different from a functional perspective than his current ability.

This would be one hell of a crowded speeder
It sounds like there wont be an advantage playing more than 1 pilot in a fighter but certainly possible. How many pilots can u fit in a tie fighter? sounds like a clown car.
TIEs generally seat one.

One Word ... Rogue Three (okay, that's two words but you get the meaning
)
The best you could do until now was Wedge, Pilot Luke and an Astromech Droid Upgrade.Sure that's a one-strike objective-buster but put one or two more pilots on it and it can blow the Executor out of the sky in one engagement (actually, it already can with those three enhancements ... Never mind
).
TIEs generally seat one.
Except Bombers ... But at 1 strength who wants to be in those?
And Interceptors fit a pilot and an Ewok ![]()
And Interceptors fit a pilot and an Ewok
Ewok: Pilot (0): Attach this Unit to a vehicle unit. It destroys itself when its focused to strike
That's actually a pretty cool idea.
Infiltration & Sabotage Specialist
S&S Unit
2 cost, 2 force, 1 capacity
white tactics x2
Pilot (x): attach to a target enemy vehicle. This card gains "Reaction: after attached vehicle resolves a strike, destroy it." X = half of attached vehicle's printed cost, rounded down, to a minumum of 1.
That might be saving that kind of effect for jar jar .... When they do the gungan cycle.
Anybody else noticed that the cycle is going to supposedly start at the end of this year? (i.e. 4th quarter of this year)
Edit: English is difficult
Edited by RaahkHopefully not a close to 6 month lay off like last year then
Not as long as nobody secretly shuts down FFGs power generator....
If they lose power they got a back up plan. They bring in a team that hand paints each card... Now granted this will cause a bit of a delay..but we'll eventually get the cards.
