Episode One: Eyes of Spies (Prequel once we got the core book, my son - the only player - made a Ithorian Spy and we picked up the story from there)
Act 1: Discovery
While doing some routine scanning Tendarr the Chief Engineer of the Grimtooth taps into some suspicious transmissions. After checking he learns they are Imperial in origin. He contacts his Commander, Carthos, who instructs him to decrypt the encrypted messages. After struggling to break the code, Tendarr does, and learns that the signals are from an Imperial Detention Facility on Tund. Relaying that information, Cmdr Carthos, consults with Mon Mothma. Her directive is to survey the system; gather intelligence. In the meantime Tendarr has also decoded the patrol schedules for the Imperial Ship "Vendetta"; assigned to guard the Tund Detention Facility. Which means they know when the Detention facility will be relatively unguarded by the Vendetta. Cmdr Carthos decides to attack, if they can get there while the Vendetta is absent. Carthos commands the Grimtooth prepare for the assault, and the jump, immediately.
Act 2: Tinker Tailor Soldier, Spy -
In engineering Tendarr discovers that the repair logs have been tampered with, and that maintenance work was left undone on all major systems, including Weapons, Shields, and the Hyperdrive. He checks the logs learns that a Lt. Bridger has tampered with these logs. Whilst doing this he learns that a transmission has been sent from the Grimtooth detailing the plan to assault the Tund Detention Facility. Tendarr alerts Cmdr Carthos to the tampering, and asks for a delay in the attack to deal with the hacker. Cmdr Carthos gives him 3 hours.
Rushing back to the engineering room, Tendarr swiftly discovers that the unmaintained systems are now hosting a virus. His research reveals that Lt. Bridger has created these, and is currently trying to slice into the system. He tries to lock Bridger out, and manages to alert the Marine force on board as to Lt. Bridger’s location.
In the midst of this Engineering Crewman Paul informs Tendarr that the hyperdrive has been set to overload via a virus, and that they must make a jump now, or the system will overload and be destroyed. Tendarr relucatantly relays the information to Cmdr Carthos who orders an immediate jump. Plotting the astrogation course Tendarr gets the Grimtooth to the Tund Facility, during the absence of the Vendetta.
ACT 3 - All the Kings Horses
The rebel assault on Tund begins. Immediately the shields fail. Cmdr Carthos wants them back online. Tendarr decides to destroy Lt. Bridger’s computer terminal. He does. And the Marines arrive to a fried, and empty network access point. Pissed off at his stuipidy, Tendarr continues to search the network for activity by Lt. Bridger. The weapon tracking system goes haywire. Tendarr creates a simple patch hack to get them back online. Then the hyperdrive snaps; its a mechanical problem. Tendarr asks another crewmember to monitor network activity whilst he patches the Hyperdrive back together; good thing he stashed an extra set of E-47B 12 fuses. Lt. Bridger is in the network again, punching through bridge command firewalls. Tendarr wants to know his physical location; finds it, and takes a physical route through wall access panels to Lt. Bridger’s location: the cafeteria. He sneaks behind him, holds a blaster at him and yells, “You’re done” and fires. Bridger ducks, and fires. Tendarr is out.
Coming too, Tendarr find Lt. Bridger gone. Racing back to engineering, he must brace himself from the hit to the ship; he does. In engineering, he discovers the hyperdrive inoperative, the shields on the blink, and the weapons blinded. He searches for Lt. Bridger on the network, creates a hack to return function to the weapons, and commands his team to initiate the back up hyperdrive. Cmdr Carthos is yelling for weapons, shields, and to hold off on jumping till a barrage of concussion missiles have been loaded and fired.
The backup hyperdrive is brought online, and, against Tendarr’s desire, on the network. He attempts to find Lt. Bridger’s physical location once again, but all the data shows the slicer is in 4 different spots “That’s impossible” Tendarr cries, and decides to run to each point to investigate it starting with the first. Nothing. He rushes to the next, turns the corner, is startled; Lt. Bridgfer has his weapon draw: ZAP! Right in the arm.
Tendarr, gritting his teeth, unhooks his hydrospanner and smacks Lt. Bridger across the face. The ship shakes. Bridger draws a knife; slices; misses. The ship rattles. Tendarr smashes him in the gut, and he crumples. The ship rolls. Cmdr Carthos sceams over the comlink “Get us out of here NOW!!)
Grabbing the computer terminal equipment from Lt. Bridger’s limp hands, he plots the jump coordinates and initiates the hyperdrive.
The lights wink out.
The Grimtooth floats dead in enemy territory.
