If you could put a pilot into any other ship...

Biggs in a phantom with stealth, jammers and recon. Uncloack? Never!!

Not a bad idea, but remember that Biggs as written requires him to be Range 1 of the allies he is defending. So, you'd have to make sure you're nearby allies. With those upgrades, may not be an issue though lol you could soak a lot of fire.

Dutch in a shuttle with FCS and Weapons engineer. Target locks for everyone!!

Ooh, that would be good. Since you'd take the action two times, would you get to have an ally take a target lock each time? Maybe that's why they won't put a crew slot on a y-wing.

I doubt you'd get to pass two each time, but I like the FCS idea. Also, if you could put a gunner on Dutch, you'd get to pass three a turn.

Why not? It's when he acquires a target lock, not takes a target lock action. Weapons Engineer states that when you acquire a target lock as well, and just says you can acquire a second one when you get one. So yes, when Dutch acts to get a target lock, with a weapons engineer he'd both gain two and pass two...

Then add Fire Control System, if we're going to be extra goofy. In the activation phase he locked, passed, then locked and passed again with Weapons Engineer for 2 passes. Then in the Combat phase, his target lives, so FCS triggers...he acquires one, passes, weapons engineer triggers, he acquires a second, then passes again. So potentially 4 passed "Acquire Target Lock" non-actions in a turn.

You pass at the start of the combat phase. you don't do it twice in a round.

Nope. Dutch says "After acquiring a target lock..." That's the restriction on his ability triggering, no phase involved. Whenever he acquires a target lock, a friendly ship at range 1-2 also gets to acquire a target lock; neither case requires or is a target lock action.

Dark Curse in a Phantom. - "I thumb my nose at your focus and target locks"

Lando in an A-Wing. Give out actions like candy that way

What about Backstabber in a "named" Falcon?

Lando in an A-Wing. Give out actions like candy that way

Or in a ship that can take R2!

Do you think that Would really make his ability worthwhile?

Maybe, maybe not. But I'm a traditionalist.

Wedge in a phantom... that would be nasty.

I played whisper for the first time the other day... it ate B-wings for lunch, though for once my rolls were HOT.

AHAHA oh god. Okay. So. I was doing two things at once and somehow in my mind Jendon's target lock passing ability got tangled in there. Sorry mate. I hope it's clear from my original post that yes, I do indeed understand how Dutch works.

How about Keyan Farlander in a interceptor or Phantom? Interceptors could shed that PtL stress and be even more unpredictable. Or a phantom that can activate opportunist without the penalty? You'd give up that PS boost from VI, but you increase its primary weapon, get to focus it, save your focus action for cloaked defense with ACD, and make your opponent cry.
