Boomers Hability

By eorahil, in Battlestar Galactica

If Boomer is a cylon and is revealed before the cylon activation phase. What happens with her hability of getting 2 loyalty cards?

1- You shouldn't have added the "you are not a cylon" extra card. This extra card is added when the activation happens and if boomer is a revealed cylon it isn't added.

2- It's hability is an exception. She must draw 2 loyalty cards even if she is a cylon

I think I remember Corey saying it's the second option.

This was definitely asked before, and should be in the FAQ...

She gets only the 1 card which might mean that the 2nd Cylon card is "left in the deck" if there is one. Tough luck but dem's da breaks if you reveal that early with Boomer.

So you still build the deck according to the rules but ignore Boomer's text since she is revealed at that time.

I would say she gets two Loyalty cards even if revealed before the Sleeper phase since the deck is constructed (with that negative ability in mind) before the game begins.

Speaking of Boomer, I know this has come up before , but I can't remember if there was a consensus or official answers (and searching these forums seem impossible at best).

Boomer gets a Loyalty card at beginning of the game. She knows she is a cylon.

Sleeper Agent phase hits .. Boomer gets two more Loyalty cards. She gets the other cylon card.

She reveals ...

Next turn she goes to the Ressurection ship and wants to give the extra Loyalty cards to another player.

The ability reads (paraphrasing).

Give your extra Loyalty card(s) to any player.

Boomer wants to give one to two different players to sow dissent on the table and protect his now unrevealed partner.

We feel by the wording (and using the non-plural "player") they have to give both her remaining Loyalty cards to ONE player. (Since if it was any other character, they would only have ONE Loyalty card to give anyway).

Cylons won anyway .. it didn't matter .. hard to win when the Admiral mysteriously becomes a cylon and before anyone can Brig him, we jump! :)

What you state is correc t... If Boomer has not revealed before the Sleeper Agent Phase. If she reveals before that, you ignore her abilities, which means she gets 1 extra Loyalty card like everyone else. therefore, 1 loyalty card will be left behind in the deck.

I say deal her the 2 cards even if she is a cylon. It would seriously suck if the card left undelt was a cylon card.

Sure, if you want to houserule it. Or the other thought is if you are Boomer and a Cylon, wait until after the Sleeper phase. to reveal. You are just potentially hurting yourself if you reveal early - which is why I like the official ruling.

I remember the designer stating explicitly that if she reveals early then she only gets one card during the sleeper agent phase, as per the rules.

Hence, this is probably a bad move, as it could easily leave a You are Cylon card or Sympathizer in the deck.
