Communing with the anicents and Evil Plans

By Mordai, in UFS Rules Q & A

Hello, this is just a question about determining WHEN do I use evil plans after I've played Communing with the anicents?

Is it before I make my CC or after ( was thinking about it as a silly dmg pump :P )

And also it would be good If I could look at my check before returning to printed value

Evil Plans responds after a control check being modified. In order for said check to be modified, it has to be made, so Evil Plans would respond after you make the check.

Wow.. that will be fun :=) make a check where bonus is not needed, make the R and turn it into damage instead.. Sweet

Also tastes great with Transference. Just remember that Evil Plans reacts to specific control hax, not the lump sum, so you have to choose which hax it's targeting if there were multiple used.

you sure? :o thought about it like +4 on check R evil plans= 4+ dmg. But that's not the case?

It's a bit more subtle than that :b

Whenever you play an ability that says, "Before a control check is made," that ability isn't actually modifying the check immediately. Rather, it sets up a floating effect waiting to happen (like when you have something that says "E: If this attack deals damage..."), and when that floating ability happens then Evil Plans activates.

So your Evil Plans goes off when one of your floating effects goes off, pumps your move up by the amount that the floating check was going to modify, and then resets your check.
