Has there been a bigger game than this?

By Boltbrain, in X-Wing Battle Reports

I ran a huge(understatement :D ) Xwing game yesterday to celebrate 1066 Wargaming's first birthday. The game was played on a 16x4ft table, used 202 ships and came in at 4660 points in total (with no named pilots used), had 7 players, lasted for 6 hours and was great fun.

Game details

I'm sure more details will go up over the next few days as we get more pictures and reports of the game.

I have not been able to find details of a bigger game than this? Have we set a a benchmark or have I missed a game somewhere.

EDIT - some people have been unable to view these link, I have linked direct to photos in one of the replys below (hopefully)

Sounds epic, but seems the pictures are walled off behind a login.

I would be interested in seeing the pictures, however I do not wanna create an account there. Can you upload them on a regular image host?

will try and get the photos uploaded later today

Wauw, I dare not think about how long the clean up took. Looks awesome.

I t would have been brilliant to have a sole surviving TIE w/1Hull in one end of the map and a limbing HWK at the other and see them use 40 turns to meet up for the final showdown LOL

the clean up wasnt too bad but the set up took over an hour as we were labeling ships and dials. That was the first lesson we learnt from the day, give people the stickers before the event so the can do that bit at home!

Whoa... my buddies and I have played 500 points a side, but this is nuts...

awesome! so who won? it doesn't say on the site (or at least i didn't notice if it did).

That is super big! Biggest game I was a part of was similar in size, but I think you guys have us beat:

The mission was for the Imperial to take out the transport and they managed to destroy 2 of the 3 deployed

> the total points value for the game was 4660pts, 2375pts Rebel and 2285pts Imperial
> 44% of the Rebel ships were still flying at the end of the game (42% of their points)
> 55% of the Imperial Ships were still flying at the end of the game (62% of their points)

If we had gone on another turn I think the Imperials would have wiped most of the Rebels out as the Rebels were pretty battered

The YT-1300 was the poorest performing ship with only 2 out of 10 surving, but strangely the Firespray only lost one of their number and was tied with the TIE defender as the most survivable ship

The Firespray is one of the best ships in the game. Lots of HP, good Agility for a big ship, good dial, decent damage, good firing arc, and good upgrade options.

Holy cheese whiz. Maybe should have used a wider table, something like...5-6 x 16. Looks like a total CF. But an ...ehehe...epic CF...Seriously though, I REALLY wanna do this.

I played a 300pts/side game and that took about 2.5hrs. I wouldn't have the patience for yours.

my wife wouldnt let me buy enough ships to play a game that size

With that many huge ships you could just ram everything to death!

Phew, that looked large!

that looked like real fun :)
