Lists of Squadrons

By Kaxel Vofer, in X-Wing

I know that some players could feel some insecurity of biuld squadrons, or the necesity of get a good advice when you créate a squad, but I really recomend that you personally test the squad and add or getoff the ships the you thinks that it needs, because its the only way to créate a style, and not to copy the others players styles, for example I use a squadron of one X-Wing and one YT-1300, with excellents results, even I won tournaments with this list, but when some friend ask me that, he lost, both ships don't do anything, even a hit, so he think the the squad are too bad, but he has other style, so my advice it's that players créate his own squadrons and get her own styles of game, greettings.

Well, I painted the red over with green on my X-Wings, does that make it a different squadron? Or do you mean calling a list a squadron name?

No I mean when players ask for opinions about some ship or other, some upgrade over other, greettings.

I agree. I like to build my own lists without looking at popular ones too much. However, I can see why people try out each other's lists. It can generate new ideas or give newer players a leg up on how to build an effective list.

75% of the time I come up with my list on the spot right before the game (unless I'm at a tournament of course)

Of course that you could get some ideas from others players but like you, players need to generate his own squads to créate a style, by the way mine is too agresive and I prefer the upgrades to let me throw more dice, or reduce the agility, greettings.

I have yet to run a list someone else posted. I greatly enjoy thinking through the possibilities for myself. If I get stumped with something, I know I can call on the more experienced players around here to set me straight.

Yeah I agree with the OP. Just because a list works great for one, doesn't mean it will work great for the next guy. Everyone has different skills with maneuvering and planning ahead and every game is different with asteroid placement and opponent strength. The best way to get good and win consistently in this game is to play a lot and develop a playstyle and skills of your own. Just flying the latest and greatest list will not make a great player.

Ah I see. Yeah, I tend to look at lists people post a lot, but then build things completely differently. For example, apparently the B-wing is really good, but I have yet to find a way to win with the darn things. Currently I am in the "PtL Phase" where I find ships with a good action bar and decent greens, and get the cheapest pilot with an EPT that I can. Disappointing that only named charatures in E-wings can have EPT's currently.

Big fan of my Han+2 Greens all with PTL list currently.

Well hello beautiful

Yes but he could get more expirence testing all the options a get the squad that he liked, or adapt to his style, it's exactly my point, it's take more time, but he gets more fun, greettings.
