Sounds awesome. I'll try to fit this into my schedule.

You did not state if players should bring a copy of the game.

Also why the tie breakers? Objectives are scored in order, and artifacts are claimed during a players action so you can't really have ties. Well I guess if the political card that raises multiple players points is passed then you could get a tie.

Oh are the games going to use imperium rex? guess that would necessitate the tie breakers.

leaders seem like something that could be left out of a tournament setting, the diplomats and agents will just make the game longer.

I'd have to check the rulebook, but the tiebreaker listed seems to match that in the book; it's probably just to emphasize. You can also get a tie if Imperium Rex shows up...

Imperium rex is the worst. I think I've only played with it once. Ending the game at random is just awful. I can see why it is being used in a tournament setting where time is limited but I've always hated it.

With Bureaucracy, though, I'd hardly say it's "random". Granted, you never know when it's going to appear, but with Bureaucracy you have some control over when it actually gets flipped over. Yeah, it means it becomes a trial to keep Bureaucracy out of the hands of the Leader, but it can also make for some interesting last-minute maneuvering.

Actually a PC that came up in a recent game could have this effect, Incentive Program. Since the bonus it applies to a PO is immediately retroactive (and the question is not 'do we apply this' but 'where do we apply this') theoretically two players could be pushed over the top at the same time. It might not be a common problem, but defining the rare case with a predefined tiebreaker can save loads of arguments later.

hi guys thanks for the interest and replies.

I will be using leaders. They ad a ton to the flavor of each race. The tiebreaks are in there because I want to have an 8 player final so I may have to take 2nd place finishers from earlier rounds. This just makes it clear to those playing how the finishes from different tables get ranked. I do not expect it to be a big deal.

As for Imp Rex, its essential if using Bureau, and I am planning on using the new Strategy Cards. I wouldn't call it too random, you know that you have a 1 in 4 chance of it being the top blue obj, and then a 33% the 50% chance of it being one to the next ones. It has to be planned for and someone out to an early lead can use Bureau to dig for it. I see nothing wrong with that style of play. in fact I have used it to win (with a Tie Break) before.

I wouldn't call it essential for bureaucracy, in my play group we pretty much always play bureaucracy and never use imperium rex.

Personally, i think if you take out Imperium Rex, though, it really kills a lot of the late-game power of Bureaucracy. Not all of it, but a major power of the Bureaucracy is for the leading player to try and grab it to get Imperium Rex in play.

Whether that's "good" or "bad", of course, is a matter of opinion :)

This sounds really fun but some of the details on the website eluded me.... how much does it cost?

apparently you have like 5 different membership levels to choose from - can one get in the door with an Associate ($10) membership? If not, how much is it at the door?
