CoC LCG world-wide shortage ?

Hey there,

Sorry to bother you with that but i'd love some kind of answer 'bout my little problem ...
I can't get my hand on anything beside the core set

There are 2 retail store i attend to
first one have some kind of partnership with millenium/edge (french distributor / translator) and they don't seem to have received anything beside the core set
the second one buy things directly in the US and managed, so far, only to get 1 copy of antediluvian dreams

So, my question is, how do you french peoples manage to get you hands on APs and league kits
If you do get them at a retail store would you mind asking, if you don't already know, where they supplies themselves ?

I'm kinda beginning to fear that buying AP's online is the only available option, i could cope with that

But i'd really like to get my hand on a league kit and start the organized play here ...

My FLGS has had some trouble getting hold of them on time, which I hope is a sign of the games popularity. We're still waiting on a restock for AP2, but I have had to buy online just to ensure that I don't miss out for some reason.

Can you supply the names of the stores that you're referring to? We'll get on this issue right away, I even had a conversation with our UK partner on this topic due to your post. We'll do what we can on this. Part of the ongoing issue is for FFG to communicate the "LCG" concept in general (which is going very well in the U.S, but is a bit slower overseas, as most of our communication is via our partner network.)

The best way to address the situation is take up contact with FFG via mail, and give them the info you have, so they can try and sort it for you.

I didn't want to make the reply I gave too public, since it named shops and distributors and it could just be there's a glitch in communications, rather than anything more fundamental going wrong, but I'd suggest the form on this page if you can't track down an email contact -

Or the slightly cheekier method of sending a 'Friends' request to one of the FFG folks, since when you ask to be a 'Friend' you get a text box to fill in explaining why you are asking, and I used that to explain the problems I'd seen in the UK.

I'm not knocking Esdevium (the UK distributor) at all, they manage to get pretty much everything else from FFG out to all my local stores pretty smoothly, but from my experience Asylum Pack distribution has some sort of problem.

Since I have time on my hands I spent a while checking on UK EBay stores - NOT games stores, only those that are primarily 'discount books' - and found quite a few selling multiple copies of the 'Spawn Of The Sleeper' and 'Horror From The Deep' asylum packs(although confusingly, many of those were listed as being 'Horror From The Deep' in the titles, but had the 'Spawn' pack as the illustration!). Intriguingly, a lot of the UK based games shops on EBay also report low or no stock of Asylum Packs - I find it odd that local and internet-based games stores tell me they can't get hold of the packs, but other internet based but not primarily 'games' stores, seem able to.

Whether it's the local shops missing the product in the 'now shipping' list and not ordering (seems unlikely since my local game shop owners are all Call of Cthulhu fans!) leaving the 'unsold' stock to go elsewhere, or how the distribution priorities are set, or just simply the distributors not getting enough copies, I really don't know. Ideally though, I want to see them in game shops, physical and online, first and in enough quantity I can be sure of getting them, and be able to send other players and potential players in the fairly safe knowledge they too can find copies!

Gah... just too late to edit it, realised I'd kept calling it 'Horror From The Deep' when the pack is 'The Horror Beneath The Surface'..... the series of Asylum Packs is 'Summons Of The Deep', but my brain stopped working and created a weird hybrid sonrojado.gif

So, as you ask for french retailer, I'd gladly answer you in the name of our community. First of all, you're rigth saying there is problems to buy the AP to FLGS. But just read the frenc forum, and you'll know a lot of nice adresses, including the one which support us for a long time, and sells the AP to us. He also ordered the french league Kits. In case you wanna run a league in a shortwhile, we can manage to help you sending the kits (we have two left, one for the summer league, the other one for autumn league, which is quite far away ...
