Two quick questions.

By ziggy3984, in BattleLore

Question #1------------------

Daqan Scenario: (B2)??? I think. Not certain.

It is the one where Rune Golems can toss stones for 3 (2-3 spaces).

Uthuk Scenario: (B2) Treasures of the Shadow Peaks

- Enemy units roll a maximum of two dice (before modifiers) when attacking a friendly unit that occupies a hill hex.

-VP Step: Gain 1 VP for each pair of hill and forest hexes occupied by friendly units.

My Question is: Do the Rune golems (on a hill) roll with 2 or 3 while targeting my archers (on a hill)?

Basically, is the scenario card a modifier?

Question #2------------

So portals do not disappear until after the player's move step.

So can two units use the portal?

And if so what happens if both units use their last move to move into the portal. Both basically ending in the same exact hex.

Thanks,

ziggy

I'm surprised nobody has tried to answer these yet. I really don't have any solid answers, but I'll give it a try.

I'm starting with question 2 since that's more straightforward. The reference guide says you treat spaces with portals as if they were adjacent. Since you cannot move into a space occupied by another unit, the second unit would have to end its movement on the first portal and would not be able to travel to the second portal. That's my take on things anyway.

For question 1, I'm thinking that since the Rune Golem's ranged attack is not modified to become 3 (it just starts as a 3-dice attack), then the Uthuk scenario would decrease that to 2 when attacking an Uthuk unit on a Hill. I don't see any justification for the Rune Golem's attack bypassing the Uthuk Y'llan's scenario card.

I agree with the above.

For #1, I think the intent is that for the ranged attack, the 'attack value' is 3, basically as if that was the number printed on the card for that attack. The terrain caps aren't changing the attack value, just capping the number of dice rolled, so the terrain would still apply.

For #2, definitely agree, you can't move into a space with another unit, so the second unit that wants to move would not be able to use the portal, as such would make an illegal move.
