FFG has been sitting on information for 15 days now. It's been over two weeks since the last news update on X-Wing. The last piece of news was the release announcement for Wave 4. With GenCon only a month away are they holding the cards close to the chest? I really do expect an announcement of new ships and a release of product at GenCon. The release should be Rebel Aces likely early while it gets released to the rest of the world in Sept.

Hopefully they are busy trying to get pictures taken of a new epic imperial ship that's going to be released. lol.

Or of an Assault Shuttle...

It'd be a good time to announce any more Wave 5 ships and push Rebel Aces out to the world, though, I agree.

I hope they keep it that way. This has been a crazy year for releases that I'm trying to keep up with. I hope next year is more toned down.

Whoa. Maybe there's just nothing new to report. After all, Rebel Aces and Wave 5 is at the printer, and Wave 4 is already scheduled for reprinting (which suggests that FFG sold a whole bunch of those ships).

I think we will see an article on the last b wing pilot and the already spoiled crew cards and mod for rebel aces later today or on Monday.

Well the last day of Gencon is the 2 year aniversary of X-Wing. My money is on a big announcement. I'm 99% sure they wont have prereleases, but my money is on some 3d models of new ships and a big surprise.

I agree, I think FFG is holding back information for GenCon. All we'll get over the next month will be a couple more preview articles for Rebel Aces (the B-Wing stuff) and Wave 5, and maybe a strategy article on how to use the TIE Advanced or something. Perhaps the Fall Tournament Kit will be announced, too.

Yes. The game itself (the Core Set and the Wave 1 ships) were released initially at GenCon starting Aug. 16, then got a wide release a month later on Sept. 14.

The next year, Wave 3 was launched at GenCon on Aug. 15 and wasn't widely released until a month later on Sept. 13.

It's becoming a trend.

anybody know the minimum point costs for the wave 5 ships? looks like a 36 for the YT and 46 for the VT... but is that for a "Named ship" just wondering how many of each to preorder...

Subtracting the highest named pilot's PS from their total cost is probably a good enough baseline for your purposes: Dash costs 36 for PS7, and the highest Decimator is either 46 or 48 for PS8. So unless there's some Falcon-style monkeying around with the stats of the generic pilots, you won't be able to field more than 3 YT-2400s or more than 2 Decimators at the 100-point level.

(Personally, I plan to buy just one of each.)

I've been looking into ship costs myself and found the the fighters typically have a 7-9 point difference between the lowest PS pilot and the highest. However, in the case of the Firespray and the Lambda shuttle they both have only a 6 point difference between the generic and the highest PS pilot. The YT-1300 does not provide any useful data here due to its stats changing, but I would assume that the VT-49's generic pilot probably will not be "cheaper" than the firespray or shuttle, and cost at least 40 points. if they broke the trend it would still probably be at least 38 points.

Frankly, this is a good thing.
If they kept up the pace they had over the previous month, we'd already know all the details of Wave 6 by now.
