Huge Ship: Gunnery Team

By AdmiralBowTIE, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Hey,

I just got the Tantive and am very excited to play it today.

However, while thinking about what I would put into it I wondered who exactly the gunnery team works. The card says "Once per round, when attacking with a secondary weapon, you may spend 1 energy to change 1 of your blank results to a Hit result.". However, when equipping the team on the fore section, does it only affect the fore section or can it also be used in the aft section? Where does the energy come from? The fore section can't store energy as far as I understood. Can I take the energy from the aft section when attacking with a secondary weapon from the fore section to use the Gunnery team?

Kind regards,

Admiral BowTIE

Unless a card says Section, then any card effects the ship as a whole.

So lets say you have a TL, you can use that on any attack on either section, but you measure for the TL from the fore section. Gunnery works on any attack, and yes you use the energy pool on the aft section.

Edit: Wanted to double check this before I posted it...

Regarding energy, you can only use the energy on the aft section for something like the Gunnery Team. Once you allocate energy to a hard point or other card with a pink number on it, such as Ionization Reactor, that energy can only be used to activate those cards. Also you have to allocate energy to them before you can use them. You can't take energy from the Aft section to power up a Single Turbolaser.

The cards like Single Turbolaser say you have to spend 2 energy from this card. So that's why it has to be allocated first.

There are no rules for transferring energy from one hard point or upgrade card to another, so that's why you can't pull energy off one to power another in the allocation phase.

Yes, the upgrade cards are not section specific. If the gunnery team is in the fore section and you use a secondary weapon in the aft section you can spend an energy to modify the dice as per the gunnery team.

I think TL will be measured from whole ship.
