Any news about the release date for Crown of Destinies? The sites says 11th of July, which is.... today..

CSI (CoolStuffInc) had it showing as in-stock on July 10th (yesterday). That is when I ordered it. It has already shipped. At least, that is what their e-mail to me says.

Got CoD now, haven't opened it but the last monster pack was great minis. I'm interested to see the new rumor quest too. Oath of honor had a brutal quest, my group just ran it on Sunday. It's basically "do this quest or overlord gets a free card, if you win you get NOTHING!"

Well you get a few search tokens... though there are only 3 and going deep for that 3rd one can end the quest quickly... razorwings are fast little devils...

Oh believe me any2, it's a nice change, I just wish it had a little bit of a reward so it wasn't a begrudging..."cmon guys that overlord is up to his old tricks again lets go". I do feel you on how it can be to rumor in LotW and Trollfens though. Oath of Honor is a huge "oh hell yea, suck it heroes!" kind of card when you draw it. Also the Act 2 hero reward is kinda meh... it mainly just keeps the undead at bay for one quest. So you have to run this quest early in act 2 or you might not even get a chance to use it by the end of the campaign. What I DO like is that it mixes up the campaigns even more. I usually play OL myself so I feel you.

FFG didn't have to include a pair of quests with these, and I would have gladly picked these all up if it were just a figure pack (especially since I don't own anything first edition). The fact that they threw these in means it's much less likely you are going to see the same campaign twice. Not to mention its just fun to play a new scenario. As a gamer who likes to... dare I say it... play the game... I love as many scenarios as I can get! These are like freebies. Props to FFG for slipping quests in with these!

I actually own everything from D1e and D2e, and still have purchased the two Heroes and Monster sets. I actually think the figures (heroes and monsters) in these new sets are better looking than the ones from D1e. In addition, I like to see what changes they make to the stats, abilities, etc.

I could see wanting to win that, then setting up perfectly for the finale. You could take both your level 3 abilities or some perfect combination that wasn't worth building early.

I assume what he means is the same as the reward granted by "Ritual of Shadows," which is very cool.

Yea, any2cards basically the reward refunds all your class cards and gives you XP equal to them so you rebuild your class. Its the entire hero team if they win it, vs only the OL if he/she wins it. Sweet deal if you trigger that right before the finale.

Also rugal I actually though the opposite. I mean they are bigger than the ettins, that was the one thing I was hoping for at least:). Also I thought chaos beats were small monsters (I haven't played D1) so seeing them as large was a pretty sweet surprise..

You do not own the old ones. ancient giants were about twice as large as the new ones, and a bit taller, so the new ones are a bit of a deception, and the chaos beast are as they were, but really better and more lovecraft style

I think I'm most excited for the Chaos Beasts from this set. I already had the Lava Beetles from Tomb of Ice (though the new sculpts do look better), plus I find the beetles to be kinda blah. The Giants are a fantasy staple so I'm excited to use them. I probably won't get this collection for a week or two though.

Perth Australia, FLGS's are all terribly overpriced (30% markup absolute minimum) so i wait until bookdepository.com starts selling it (on the day of release) then order it from there... ordered it earlier today so now its a waiting game until it arrives.

Thats regional pricing for you, Australians get paid VERY well, but everything here costs a small fortune so the very good wage gets diminished a good amount by that.

My local shop will sell it to me for $49 ($46.03 USD) which they claim is the Australian RRP, or i can buy it online (after it travels around the globe) for $32.99($30.99 USD). So they mark it up by 49% of the price... Id love to support my LFGS but a 49% markup above what i can get it online for is ridiculous.

Its a vicious cycle, i am sure his rent for his store, his insurances, his bills, his cost of living and the product he buys is all at inflated costs. That added to the fact his turnover would be diminished by online sales means he has to push up the price to stay afloat .
