Trying to understand something...TIE-A vs. stock YT-1300.

By Tiltowait, in X-Wing

So...personally customized and designed by Darth Vader. The most advanced tactical fighter of a fleet that prides itself on precision, agility, and maneuverability, the TIE Advanced.

This ship boasts a larger turning radius than a civillian stock junk freighter freshly recovered from a used ship lot?

Was this a typo or does the TIE-A really have the same speed 1 agility as a Y-Wing and is surpassed by the YT-1300?

Or wait...maybe that's because Sienar systems had the exclusive no bid contract and beat out the crappy ship-builders of Corellia and made sure that Incom was nationalized and eliminated as a competitor! Vader's design was probably "re-envisioned" and "optimized" which is why they lost the Death Star. After the disaster of Yavin, ol Annie probably paid Sienar management a visit? :)

The YT is a large-based ship. The Turn 1 is a slightly different maneuver to a TIE turn 1.

The maneuver is also taking speed into account. TIEs are too fast to get all those 1 maneuvers.

Why the TIE-A has only 1 banks is weird though, probably poor foresight for future ships' maneuvers.

Government-contract, bloated-feature created prototype vs. modded-out race pirate ship.
