Hobbie and Z95

By Rogue 4, in X-Wing

So opinions on this build before I run it this weekend please:

Hobbie with R3-A2

Tarn with R7 Astromech

Lt. Blount with Ion Pulse

Cracken with Swarm Tactics, Assault Missle, and Missle Failsafe

Thanks for any advice. Fixed per suggestions.

I may be wrong, but isn't munitions failure on Blount a waste? Even if your missile deals no damage, his ability says it hits.

This is 100% correct.

Yes, NEVER put Munitions Failsafe on Blount. It triggers if you do not hit with a missile, and Blount ALWAYS hits, meaning it will NEVER save your missile.

However, I have played a similar list that removes Blount entirely. 2 Z95s is a strange number in my experience, you want one of the aces or several of the generics. Try this, gives you a little more firepower and some protection:

Hobbie

++R3-A2

Cracken

Biggs

++R2-F2

Tarn

++R7 Astromech

Leave it at 99 points or pick a 1pt EPT for Cracken.

Well, almost. A crit could remove his pilot ability and then munitions failsafe could help. But the odds of this happening are slim. :)

Really like your list. Nice cheap combos on the X's. I imagine Cracken will be the first to go, just make sure you get those assaults off early. Might be worth swapping missile over between the Z's?

Blount with an IPM will always ion whatever he shoots, making him great at popping a phantom or stealthed-interceptor into the danger zone

Put Deadeye on Blount, and then you never have to worry about which ship you TL.
