If you added a non-Star Wars ship to the game...

Ante up your TIE swarm point totals,

what do you think can take down this ship?

It's a shame the miranda class sucks so bad in Attack Wing. It's my second favorite ship of that universe but the chosen depiction in that game is the Cannon Fodder kind from the next gen episodes. Fughf. :\

On that note it has no close-in weapons systems. Enough TIE bombers at a distance could proton it to death.

Actually this one is less crazy than some of the others, and I know of a model that almost matches the scale of the CR90. CR90 = 1/450Revell Enterprise = 1/500Polar lights Enterprise = 1/350 Revell+Star+Trek+Into+Darkness+USS+Enterimg_1029.jpg Really tempting to design a set of pilot cards, but the Enterprise could wipe out a ISD so there's not much point.

Jar Jar 1701 just looks so ......... MEH

SchLoTTiX, forgive my ignorance, but what game is this? It looks awesome...

I'm on my phone so can't post a pic, but definitely a Minmatar Rifter (from EVE Online).

though i would heavily support the swordfish, we're missing probably an iconic starfighter here.

Thats a Sol Force Dreadnaught from Sword of the Stars 2. Probably a bit big though, perhaps some battle riders would be more the right size.

I was thinking about this sort ofthing the other day, like Dronevil I had an idea the R-9A Arrowhead from R-Type

2 Attack

5 Agility

1 Hull

0 Shields

And I was thinking, for accuracy, it should only have straight moves but be able to go backwards :)

It should probably get a charge beam as well. Not sure how you would implement it htough, obviously you'd have to forgoe a round of shooting in order to charge it but seeing as there arent any beam weapons currently I was thinking maybe when you fire it you'd place the 5 straight manouver template in the front of the ship and anything under neath it takes a 4 or 6 (if you double charged) dice attack. Of course for slightly less authentic and more sensible rules you'd give it less agility, a bit more hull and the ability to turn.

I call that BS. An ISD had trouble hitting the back of the tantive let alone trying to hit any star fleet vessel!!

**** even an obirth class science vessel could take down an ISD, full impulse to get below then let off some Photon torps and its all over.

The massed Ties could be a threat but not the slow turning, slow firing turbo laser turrets not to mention how slow the projectile seems to move.

Though i'd put my geek money on Babylon 5 ships to win in a 3 way battle between Wars, Trek and B5

Shadows would jump in carve up every thing in sight including all other B5 ships then fade out again :-P

If they ever do a Clone Wars expansion, The saucer that the Weequay pirates used would be cool.

I am on my phone at the mo and can't post pictures, so look these up.

Nell - Battle beyond the stars (large ship)

Space Battleship Yamato - Star blazers (huge ship)

VF1 (veritech fighter) - Robotech (small ship)

Defiant - Deep Space 9 (Large Ship)

Defiant - Deep Space 9 (Large Ship)

Not sure whether or not you're aware of it, but the Defiant is already out there, in the form of Star Trek: Attack Wing, the cheap rip-off of X-Wing Miniatures. (I think it's a small ship, though.)

That being said, a Defiant with a real paint job would be nice. ;)

As Tom2Toes mentioned ... its Sword of the Stars 2. Impressive graphics, but in my opinion Sword of the Stars(incl. all addons) is far better in terms of gameplay.

But yes both are a biiit to big :D.

Nice rack for a spaceship.

I'm torn between the B5 Starfury and the Firefly...

As much as I am a fan of Firefly, I find Serenity a sad choice because it has no weapons,

it's just a (115m x 62m x 28m) fat transport. Does that help you decide?

http://firefly.wikia.com/wiki/Firefly-class_transport_ship?#Series_4

(*GR-75 Medium Transport: 90 m long x 30 m wide x 20 m high)

What am I saying, we can't always use more fat unarmed transports

in a dogfight game, right?

EDIT

another source says: 63 meters long, 40 meters wide and 18 meters tall.

The Firefly class would primarily be an unarmed support ship, but I could still see it being given a bomb slot and a new type of bomb:

Cry Baby: When dropped, a Cry Baby token counts as a ship with 1 Hull and 0 Agility. When an enemy acquires a target lock, it must lock onto the Cry Baby token if able.

(As for the idea that people could then add offensive bombs to a Firefly, I don't see this as a problem. If the crew of Serenity managed to get access to a bomb, I expect they'd find some way of releasing it behind the ship when needed.)

Well, the Earth Directorate fighter from the1980s Buck Rogers series is still one my favourites.

buck_rogers_ship.jpg

Our gaming group actually ran a participation game at several events where players had a choice of several ships from TV, movies and Computer games (not using X-Wing rules though):

THK5113.jpg

I'd add these two, plus their opponent counterparts:

Original Colonial Viper:

Fox Mc Cloud and Falco Ship!

When Slippy is within Range 1 of Fox McCloud, Fox gets a free barrel roll action

How do you guy make these cards?

You should print it and really throw your friends off.

I made it here: http://cardcreator.atelierdufaucon.com/ It's in French, but it isn't too hard to figure out if you don't speak the language.

And my friends have already seen this, so I'm afraid I've lost the element of surprise. But we are thinking of getting a 3d-printed model off of Shapeways to try it out.

Don't forget, Serenity can mount a turret as well. But it should be a unique, Firefly-only turret:

Flak-88 Turret

Firefly only

Attack: 2

During the activation phase, automatically attack any enemy ship that moves within range 2 of you.
