So after a helluva "wake up call" game with my 2014 Regionals winning list (no Wave 4 allowed)against a friends Wave 4 heavy Whisper/Defender/Turr list I've found that a change of gear/tactics is much needed. His Whisper had VI so it was PS9 and was extremely hard to pin/hit during the game.
So I've toyed up this little squad of stressers that shpuld be able to lock it down nicely:
Corran Horn — E-Wing 35 points
At the start of the End phase, you may perform
one attack. You cannot attack during the next round.
- Veteran Instincts (+1 point)
- R7-T1 (+3 points)
Action: Choose an enemy ship at Range 1-2.
If you are inside that ship's firing arc, you may
acquire a target lock on that ship. Then, you
may perform a free boost action.
Wes Janson — X-Wing 29 points
After you perform an attack, you may remove
1 focus, evade, or blue target lock token from the defender.
- Veteran Instincts (+1 point)
- R3-A2 (+2 point)
When you declare the target of your attack, if the defender
is inside your firing arc, you may receive 1 stress token to
cause the defender to receive 1 stress token.
Blue Squadron Pilot — B-Wing 22 points
- Fire-Control System (+2 points)
After you perform an attack, you may acquire
a target lock on the defender.
- Ion Cannon (+3 points)
- Flechette Torpedoes (+2 points)
After you perform this attack, the defender receives
1 stress token if its hull value is "4" or lower.
The idea is to have Wes shooting first and hopefully have Corran at very close range (and outside the arc) of the phantom(s): R3-A2 on Wes ensures that the target receives a stress (shutting down any cloaking tricks from Adv. Cloak Devices) and Corran should be in a good position with a TL and can possibly do another attack at the phantom(s) if needed at the End Phase.
If all this fails the Blue Sq Flechette launcher should fire the Ion Cannon and gain a TL, and thus be able to launch the Flechette in the newxt round with a Focus alongside while Corran recuberates and Wes re aligns (if alive at that time)
What ya think?
