need alittle help please
What do you want this character to be doing, it's concept? It's an important question with any spec, but especially the Scout imo, because you've got Skills and Talents going in two different directions with that spec imo.
i think i want to stick to the stealthy type scout thinking also to take combat skills is my species bonus ranged(light) and melee for vibroknife but have not made up my mind on taking two combat skills
Well, I guess my question is - what's the character like, what's his background? Where he came from will inform the point allocation. Trying to come up with stats and then creating the character has always been cart before the horse in my book.
I hate to kick off another debate but I think if you look at the scouts and bounty Hunter survivalist next to one another you find the survivalist actually fits the write up for the scout better in my opinion and give you access to combat skills. I also agree with that you really want to come up with a concept before you go shoehorning it into a specialization.
well the reason i said scout was because i was thinking to pick a second spec and go either big game hunter or fringer. see i really want to wait til the colonist book comes out and play marshal fringer but i was the would late next month after gen con im gonna try and convince to wait its released im incredably excited about it.
Go ahead and make a scout then I wouldn't worry about waiting for the new book . You could choose big game hunter or you could use the universal recruit spec in age of rebellion if you need combat skills quicker. The update says we should have the Colonist book in quarter three which means by September I would think.
You should go with the skills that best match your character's personality; that will be the most fun to roleplay. As far as what skills out of the Scout's career skills are key, I'd say Cool, Athletics, Perception, and Survival. If you want to be a stealthy stalker then spend some non-career points on Stealth and Melee.
As 2951 said, don't worry about going with scout to start out. You can always cross-specialize after the new sourcebook comes out with the specialization that you want.
