Off-topic: WHAT THE HELL, BRAZIL?

By Vorpal Sword, in X-Wing

By buddy just posted this:

So Germany has apparently re-armed.. This has to be a violation of some treaty.

Timeline of game:

-German team announce union with Austrian soccer team

-Germany annexing Brazil on the pretense of protecting ethnic Germans.

-UK seeks to appease German soccer team

-Germany declares 'Pact of Steel' with Italian soccer team

-UK, Australia, New Zealand, and France denounce Germany's Blitzkrieg of Brazil. Declare war.

-Germany and Russia divide up Brazil

-Germans allow establishment of Vichy Brazilian team

No invasion on Poland this time? ;)

Well i guess this just goes to show, You Never Go Full Blitzkrieg......

German Tie Phantoms arrived, and Brazil forgot to add turrets.

That was amazingly fun to watch last night.

I saw the results, rather than the game.

My first thoughts were "well, at least a result like this hasn't happened in front of a home crowd, in a country where football is essentially a religion, in a city with a really, really high violent gun crime rate...oh, no, wait..."

I'm impressed Scolari made it out of the stadium.

As a german I wasnt sure I should be happy that brazil got a honor goal or to be "angry" that we didnt played to :0

Great game anyway.

Müller got into range 1 and rolled so much red.

That was fabulous.

The Brazillians had kicked, fouled and bullied their way into the Semis on the back of one decent striker and a handful of biased referees. This was karma of the highest calibre and the Germans dished it out superbly.

On a side note... can people cut out the awful WW2/Nazi jokes about Germany, please?

I'm not German and even I find it really offensive. You do know that we've moved on, right?

To take this further off topic, and risk a flame war....

Yesterday, there were two games I know of where one team was behind 5-0 about half-way through. One was the hopeless Brazil game which is the topic of this thread. The other was a baseball game where the Reds clawed their way back into the game, and ended up winning in the bottom of the 9th with a walk-off single.

To me, that's why Baseball is the greatest game...the soccer match was done at the half-way point, except for the crying. In baseball, "it ain't over till it's over!"

Yea, more kickball!

Teams have come back from worse than 5-0 in the past! I have yet to look into baseball very much, but I do love Yankee Football. Cool game.

Not a flame war, you run a good risk of getting ignored though. What you said can happen in any sport. Not sure why football topics always attract people saying how they enjoy another sport (too). World wide numbers speak for themselves me thinks. And yes other sports can be fun too. Not the topic of this thread though.

Well, that's that. We can all go back to not caring about soccer again.
