Hope for Ep. VII

I think the funniest thing that keeps getting more and more exaggerated by media, fans, etc, is that the prequels had no sets, no costumes, no practical effects, every alien was cgi, etc.

Basically everything that's been seen or said so far about ep7 could apply to the phantom menace - it shot tatooine on location with real sets, ship props, costumed actors and aliens, etc just like ep7, it had many sets that had little or no blue/green screen as well.

Also believe it or not *gasp* even the three original movies all used blue screen at various times!

Why does JJ always take the flack for the Star Trek reboot? He didn't write it. Not to mention it was meant to be a reboot so they had to do something to pay homage to the old series while they wrote the new one. I personally like how they tied to two together.

As far as episode VII goes I'm approaching it with an open mind. The largest problem it's going to face is the fact that the Star Wars universe has been expanded on since it's inception. Sadly with the new movie we might see story break away from some of the novels we have read over the years, but we could also see some of the stories worked into the new trilogy. However as fans we need to approach it knowing some of the things we have accepted as truth may be changed. At least this time it's a sequel and not a prequel. I do have a strong feeling we will see a passing of the torch type story with more focus on the younger characters then the already established ones.

I'm very much looking forward to episode VII, and to what direction the Star Wars universe will be going as a result.
