Does Etahn benefit from his own card ability? The reason I ask this is because, when reading the E-wing article on FFG, they seem to make it sound like he can only help his squad mates. I would think that he would benefit from his own ability since, when he attacks, thus making him the attacker, he would have an enemy ship that is defending in his fire arc at range 1-3. Is this painfully obvious or am I just over thinking it? Again, the only reason I ask this is because of the article on FFG about the E-wing makes it sound like this is not the case.
Edited by Grapthar91Question about Etahn A'baht's card ability
Yes.
I was inclined to say it was only your other ships, but reading the text again "When an enemy ship inside your firing arc at range 1-3 is defending, the attacker may change 1 of his [hit] results to a [crit] result." Unlike say, Howlrunner, it doesn't specifically say "When another friendly ship...", it just references a ship defending, and the attacker. Etahn is most certainly the attacker when firing at a ship inside his own firing arc at range 1-3, so unless I'm missing something it seems like he should benefit from his own text? They could have worded it something like:
"When another friendly ship is attacking a ship within your firing arc at range 1-3, that ship may change one [hit] result to a [crit] result."
To explicitly exclude Etahn.
edit: I misread and thought for some reason Vronk was saying that he didn't benefit. No idea why. So yeah, it looks like he does for sure benefit unless someone has a compelling reason he wouldn't?
