tactician and rear firing arc

By The_Brown_Bomber, in X-Wing Rules Questions

does tactician work from the firesprays rear firing arc?

Yes.

Yes.

what about the falcons 360 arc?

Yes.

what about the falcons 360 arc?

No. More specifically, the Falcon does not have a 360 arc, it has a standard arc, but can fire at targets outside that arc with its primary weapon. Any effect, like Navigator, still requires the target to be in its arc to activate.

The falcon doesn't have a 360 arc. It has a standard forward arc and the ability to fire at targets outside its arc. The printed forward arc still counts for all effects that concider firing arcs.

cool. so tactician works on the rear arc of the firespray and only on the front arc of the falcon?

Yes.

Anyone else find it kinda retarded how that works? With the Y or Hwk adding a turret it makes sense. But on a ship who's weapon is a turret just feels like he's getting hit with the gimp stick. I was all excited about putting Outmaneuver on Lando or Chewie, then remember how they designed it and had a very sad panda moment.

Not really. FFG built the Falcon (and, soon, the Outrider and Decimator) like that specifically so they could limit potentially overpowered combinations with the "inside your firing arc" limitation, and Outmaneuver firing off in 360 degrees would be most definitely overpowered.
