Adrmiral Thrawn

By Rogue Dakotan, in X-Wing

At the start of the first round, if your squad contains more alternate art cards than your opponent's squad, place three Preparation tokens on this card. If your opponent's squad has more alternate art cards than yours, place three Inspiration tokens on this card.

When a friendly ship is attacking or defending, you may spend an Inspiration token to reroll any number of dice, or a Preparation token to add a [boom] or [zig] result to their roll.

Action: If this card has no tokens, add one Inspiration token and one Preparation token to this card.

(Of course this is totally unworkable, but I like the idea of folding the art thing in somehow.)

4 points-

imperial only

(double sided)

Once per round, before the activation phase, you may look at all ships dials within range 1-2 of you, (yes that includes the ship thrawns riding in) and then change 2 of them to a manuvere of the same difficulty. then flip this card over.

When this side is flipped face-up, If you changed an opponents dial, they may recieve two stress tokens to change the dial back to its original position, or recieve one stress token to pick a new manuvere. During the end phase, flip this card over.

At the end of each turn you may assign one stress token to each enemy ship that does not have one and is within range 1 of any friendly ship. You may remove 1 stress token from each friendly ship within range 1 of an enemy ship. Double crew, 10 points.

Why when you can take Mara and inspiring recuit for much less.

because it was range 1 of any friendly and for each not just one.

I was just having a thought, but why not

"You choose which player has initiative. If both players are using Thrawn, ignore this effect"

I like it! That was what his ability did in the Wizard's Star Wars Miniature game. Just to add more flavor and to make his cost higher:

"You choose which player has initiative. If both players are using Thrawn, ignore this effect. Friendly Ships within range 1 of you gain 2 PS"

I like it, but maybe:

""You choose which player has initiative. If both players are using Thrawn, ignore this effect. Friendly Ships within range 1 of you at the start of each phase gain 2 PS until the end of that phase"

The way it was worded you could stack it from turn to turn...

Although chances are he will be huge ship only, my hope is for a good crew card on any ship (even the Tie shuttle). Id like an ability related to formation flying but with him not required to be in range X. Like:

"All of your ships flying at range 1 of another friendly ship get X bonus." (no matter where Thrawn is on the mat).

Something that would maybe replace (or complement) Howlrunner and be good enough to bring back swarms.

Or maybe that is what I meant 0.0

Lol, Just kidding. Good catch!

I've made one a while ago for Epic. We had a blast with it back then, taking down his ship was the hardest thing ever and my most memorable X-Wing match to date.

Cost: 9pt

Once per round, you can chose another ship. Remove all evade, focus and blue target locks from that ship. You may then add any of those tokens to friendly ships.
