So I had my first real epic game yesterday. I flew rebs, which is weird for me off the bat as I generally prefer imps and my opponent generally prefers the rebs. It was a 300 point game and we both decided to go with quality over quantity. I deployed a fully loaded Tantive iv, and kitted out wes, Etahn, ten numb and blount. he had kitted out jendon, jonus, rhymer, krassis, whisper and a pair of royal guards. We ran out of time (more specifically I ran out of time) and called it a draw with a seriously damaged firespray, rhymer, and royal guard, and shieldless Etahn and mostly intact tantive left on the board. If we had one more round it would have decided the game. But I digress, this wasn't meant to be a battle report.
First off Etahn is a BEAST. His ability may very well be one of the most unbalanced and overpowered ones in the game. Pairing him with Wes and Ten practically guarantee inflicting a critical hit against a target each round. Owing in large part to that ability the firespray was limping around the battlefield with 4 critical hits at the end of play.
Second, Deadeye is a MUST INCLUDE on Blount. Owing to pilot skil order he was never able to establish a useful target lock to unleash his assault missiles.
Third, The cr-90 does not feel like a ship. More like a special set of rules that you have to manage. I found it to be annoying and distracting and not terribly useful. I'd rather swap it for a bunch more fighters.
